End of the line for injections?
End of the line for injections?
I had robotic prostate removal about 2 years ago and while I asked for nerve sparing surgery it seems like that did not happen. So I started with a weak tri mix solution at 5 units and slowly increased the dosage. Most I really ever got was a chubby. After reaching the max does the uro increased the mixture. I did that for three successive scripts with no results. Finally went to a quad mix. I am now up to 40 units, again with-no results! The quad mix was for 50 mcg pge, 2mg phentolamine, 30mg papaverine, 0.1 mg/ml mcg atropine. My question is, am I at the end of the injectable line and looking at implant as the next stuff?

You can certainly go higher with the strength if you really want to avoid the implant. I know Olympia compounding pharmacy makes an 85mcg PGE Trimix as well as a 150mcg PGE mix.
Early 30s with ED for years from penis enlargement stretching and jelqing. Implant by Dr Eid on 24 June 2021 with a Titan 24cm with +1cm RTE on one side and -1cm cut off on the other side

In my case, I followed a similar path of progressively increasing strengths and dosages as each step began failing to produce the erection needed. This was over about 3 years. I finally threw in the towel at 70 units of 100/6/30. The residual pain and ache for a weak boner, was not worth it.
20 years of severe Peyronie's plaque, 90 curve, hinging and ED. Cost me 1.5" L and 1" G.
Implanted 2/18/21, AMS CX, 18 CM + 3 RTE, penoscrotal. Have gained 3/4". Gay, married, age 68.

When I reached that stage I said time to do it. Wish I had done that years ago. My life seems normal again. Woohoo.

Stutz,
I'm sorry things aren't working out for you. How long have you been trying injections? Were you having ED issues before the RP? I think the injections usually work pretty well for guys with with no underlying ED issues prior to the RP.
I had no prior ED issues. I too was supposed to get nerve sparing surgery but was also left with complete ED afterwards. I was later told I had cancer in the margins so I guess they did what they had to do or the nerves were just too traumatized even if they were spared. Fortunately, after a few initial missteps, the injections have worked well for me.
Did the doctor ever do a demonstration injection for you in his office? If so, how well did that one work?
Unfortunately, If you're doing injections correctly and you're not getting results at that level of potency and volume then for whatever reasons the injections just may not be for you. You have to find whatever solution works acceptably for you, whether it's injections VED and rings or implant.
If you think there's any question about your injection technique I can send you a link to my very amateur injection video I did awhile back. A few guys have found it helpful. Let me know if you want it.
Again, I'm sorry things haven't worked out for you so far. I wish you the best of luck finding a solution that works for you.

Re: End of the line for injections?
I had a nerve sparing RP in 2016. After six weeks I was given a pump to help gain some of the length I had lost and to bring a bit of life into the old fella well it worked for neither. I then tried all the brands and makes of pills and still no erection. That went on like that for two years. My wife and I just had to get used to the fact that it was unlikely I was going to be able to get hard again. Then in 2018 my psa started to rise again to the point I ended up having 37 rounds of radio therapy. I never gave injections a thought well I just didn’t know they existed no one ever mentioned them. So my wife and I just carried on with our sex life the best we could. Then out of the blue in late 2020 I woke up one morning with a rock hard cock. I just couldn’t believe it neither could my wife. We enjoyed that lie in and made the most of it well erections where a bit hit and miss from then on. Sometimes I had to make do with a semi on and other times he would start off nice and hard but let me down half way through. I was diagnosed as having low Testosterone and started on testogel. I have no spontaneous erections in the day time but have loads of nocturnal ones. And now when we have sex I always have a good erection and am able to please the wife again It’s took 5 years to get to where we are now. My oncologist and urologist both think it’s took this long for the nerves to regrow or repair. I only need to try and get some of the lost length back which is about 2 inch. Oh and had my regular psa blood test results last week and my psa is on the rise again
I had a RP in 2016 and a year later My psa started to rise resulting in having 37 sections of radio therapy. 2021 Testosterone replacement stopped due to psa rising again. Oncologist says most likely coming from a malignant source. I am at my wits end.
Re: End of the line for injections?
Thanks, I do use the VED device with rings but was hoping for injections to work instead. Unfortunately with the mix I use above there is residual pain (like the friend just aches) for a while after injections. Yes I am injecting correctly, and I would say over the different trials, maybe about 30 times. My guess is also with higher levels of PGE the pain increases as well.
I guess its time to look at going bionic. BTW, it took a long time using the VED device to get back to what the surgery took away. If I do the implant not looking to loose again. I am a happy 7 x 6 which I find like Goldilocks, "just right"

Re: End of the line for injections?
I went through the round with injections, Trimix then Quadmix. Both did the same thing, at first good erections then have to up the dose to get anything. Doc would give me a stronger mix, by the end of a prescription my dose would be 60-80 units and maybe work. I would hurt for 2 days after injecting that high a dose. When Quadmix didn't work into my second prescription of it I knew it was time for the implant.

Re: End of the line for injections?
I reduced Trimix pain by using 100mg sildenafil + 40% of the Trimix I needed previously. This is an "official" method. But I still have the prostate, don't know whether that makes a difference.
Age 79 in 2024. On testosterone replacement due to hypothalamus malfunction. (Attention depressed guys: low testosterone is a cause.) Healthy health nut but ED due to getting old. Like to keep enough cardiovascular ability to thrust for 30 min.

I’m thinking of using the 100mg sildenafil + Trimix too, so 40% is a good starting place you say?
