Re: Long-Term Injecting Damage?
From my research either one of two things will happen.
1) Trimix will slowly lose its efficacy and you will need an implant. This depends on your body and how quickly your condition worsens. It's also pretty much guaranteed. Some men use injections for 10+ years. Others for only a couple.
2) Scarring will occur and you will have to cease using injections even though Trimix still works. This, however, can be minimized by following injection instructions and tips given by fellow Frank Talkers. So this depends on YOU and how your body reacts to repeated injections.
Either way an implant is in our future. I plan on using Trimix as long as I can. I'm just hoping to get to at least the next generation before I need an implant. Seems like each company has certain quality issues to work out.

Seems like you stay on top of things. Have you come to a guesstimate as to when the next generation of implants will be coming out, even if it's just from one company?

I'm guessing Boston Scientific and Coloplast will release newer improved models in the next 3-5 years. I don't have any information supporting this but just guessing based off past history. Also there is a newer Rigicon Infla 10 AX but its not approved in the states yet. One of the members here had it implanted. Finally, I'm closely watching this "magnetic induction" penile implant. It was successfully tested in a cadaver last year. No pump, no reservoir, no tubes, no breakdowns, less chance of revisions, but you will have to carry a wand with you to activate the implant.

Re: Long-Term Injecting Damage?
Yup, im one of those guys where i went through the ranks pretty fast. Used all the pills for ten yrs until they failed, went to bi mix for about 6 months until it started to fail, up it to tri mix for about 3 months, then onto quad mix for about 5 months and had to stop the injections from scarring and fibrosis. I think the quad mix was what finished it for me cause when i started it , the injection would like ball or pocket up in the shaft and not performing well at all. Im currently looking for a surgeon!

Re: Long-Term Injecting Damage?
Well, I'm one of those guys that's been injecting (alprostadil mono-mix) for 10 years. Everything seems fine and the injections continue to work well at nearly the original dose.

Re: Long-Term Injecting Damage?
I've been injecting Alprostadil 2-3 times per week since 2007.
So far i have 0 damage, however the injections have drastically lowered in efficiency the last ~3 years.
It's pretty random tho, as sometimes they work perfectly fine, others not at all... I've posted about it a few times here, seems to be "normal", no one really knows why tho. Apparently i don't have venus leak, no cardiac or any other problem. That's that, i guess... :/

40 years old, married. ED all my life because of spinal cord injury caused by a tumor in early infant age. Using standard EDEX20 since 2007. Increasingly bad results with EDEX in the last few years, but had very good results for at least 10 years.

Re: Long-Term Injecting Damage?
I suspect thousands of needle pricks aren't helpful. But I also suspect injection technique is at least as important and probably actually more important. Also, I expect the drug(s) injected plays a large part. Alprostadil (PGE-1) has long been thought to cause the least damage and is the only drug FDA approved for the purpose.

Re: Long-Term Injecting Damage?
Indeed, that's why "trimix" doesn't exist anywhere in Europe anymore. Apparently they used to have it, but people would abuse the Papaverine, producing insane erections and damaging their penis.
I am quite sad because of that, i'd use it sensibly... but yeah, apparently the damage IS related to the drugs, not injectios, as long as you inject properly (change sides, spot, compress, etc)
