Pumping just to stretch?
I barely get natural erections anymore. I'm noticing some shortening. Can I pump for 8 minutes a day to get it at least stretvhed back to old length? I don't want to further damage anything but I don't want to keep losing length so quickly.
39, Implanted 8/10/21. 22 cm Titan, Dr. Tariq Hakky.
Re: Pumping just to stretch?
Sure, just use caution, as in don't get carried away with it. Any potential recovery of length will be slow.

Re: Pumping just to stretch?
The protocol I favor is this:
Pump to size and hold for 1-2 minutes and release the pressure/vacuum long enough for the erection to subside.
Repeat for 30 minutes
Do this twice per day for at least 60 days prior to surgery and continuously for any period of time when nocturnal erections do not provide the stretching and oxygenation.
This does two things: stretches the tissues (to maintain elasticity and size) and flushes/pulls blood (some from veins and some, oxygenated blood from arteries) to provide oxygen and nutrition to penile tissues.
I did it for 14 months during my search for authorization and to find a surgeon I trusted to do the job.
According to one study I read, this vacuum therapy provides advantages not only of size retention and tissue health but might make the insertion of the implant easier for for the surgeon (and recovery easier on the patient - because of less trauma during surgery).

Yes! Many usable exercises are discussed on Franktalk. I like to incorporate kegel exercises both during the time under vacuum and/or during the rest time.
Married 50+ years. Use VED for sex and do
daily exercises with both water and vacuum pumps.

Re: Pumping just to stretch?
As part of my search for an ED cure, I started pumping a year and two months before my implant. I used a regular pump, a Bathmate, and an approved VED. I masturbated to the point of getting a "chubby" and orgasm. I edged for a while just to maintain the "chubby".
For pumping, I basically did what was described in Lost Sheep's post earlier. I rotated the pumps, but mostly used my air pump. I wore out two air pumps. My doc implanted an AMS CX MS Series described in my signature block.

Re: Pumping just to stretch?
I have struggled to be consistent with a pumping routine. Life is busy and I don't seem to be able to carve out an hour per day to pump.
I tried to get in a routine and would fall out of that routine within a few days or weeks.
Finally a guy here just suggested that I put the pump on my cock when I'm stepping in the shower. Pump it up and release it on and off while I'm lathering up and rinsing off. I use soap or shampoo as the lube to get a seal. Its only about 15 minutes or so, but I have finally gotten consistent with it and I notice results. My cock is thicker/longer much of the time now. More like it used to be.
I just have a cheap pump I bought on Amazon for around $15. The good part is that it is lightweight so I don't have to hang onto it. I can just pump and let it hang there for much of the time. And if it gets ruined by getting wet (a spring in the release valve getting rusty maybe? Not sure what else could go wrong, it's mainly plastic) who cares. I'll just buy another if that happens.
I just pump until I feel a stretch with mild discomfort. This shouldn't be torture. You could potentially hurt yourself if you go to far. Your body will let you know.

55yo, NYC. ED started at 40. 50 units BiMix + Atropine (Pap 30/Phen 6/Atr 0.2). Prostaglandins caused aching. Doses increasing. A cock ring helps. Phallosan Forte tension devise to maintain size. Eager to talk about implant experiences.

Yes on the hurting yourself. I pumped too much once and got some edema (which is probably the most benign of ill effects). It resolved in a few days but was a little scary until a FrankTalk member explained what it was.
Consistent routine: I found pumping up in bed just before going to sleep was easy to do. I usually take a little while to fall asleep after getting into bed and pumping up during that "winding down" time did not present any difficulty at all. Same for when I woke up in the morning. I often wake (slowly) before my alarm and vacuum pumping during that period was also easy. One thing that made this convenient was that getting a good seal did not require any lube. I don't know how common that is.
You might want to share a link to the $15 pump. That is an EXTREMELY reasonable price which would be appreciated by many FrankTalk members.

When I just searched Amazon there was a similar one for $24 with free shipping. There was another for $19 but $6 shipping.
Then I checked eBay and searched “penis pump” the third listing was a similar cheap one for $10.99 with free shipping. Here is the listing. I’m not sure how long it will stay available.
