One cylinder stops short of the other

Postby Davey4000 » Sun Oct 17, 2021 2:41 pm

My first post after years of lurking on Franktalk. I received immeasurable information here that encouraged me to have an implant which was done on 9/14/21. I am delighted with the results so far, but have a concern to see if others have experienced the same.

My right cylinder goes well onto the glans… I’d say 4/5 ths of the way. The other cylinder stops at the base of the glans. I have no problem fully pumping and my penis looks and feels great.

I have an appointment in about 10 days for post op and clearance to have sex. Of course I’ll see what my surgeon say, but I’m curious if anyone else had this issue?

My right cylinder is slightly longer than the left one.
I'd guess the difference is less than a CM though.

Some men have tunicas that are not symmetrical. Each tube of the implant needs to reach as far into the tunica as possible and if your surgeon did that, it was done properly.

Most implantees pay attention to how far the implant's tips reach into the glans, but the real issue is how far the tunica reaches into the glans and secondarily how for the implant reaches into the tunica.

Keep that in mind when you speak to your surgeon and hear the explanation with that knowledge.

LS, I kinda think my surgeon just measured one side.
I can't complain since it presents no problem for me.

Update, on my surgical notes he measured both sides, but they aren't equal.

While implant cylinders come in 2 or 3 cm increments in length, RTE's are made in .5cm increments. And many doctors will say they will get the tips of the cylinders in the glans with in .5 cm of each other because of this. One well known NY doctor has been said to trim the RTE or proximal end of the cylinder to get the tips as close to perfect with each other as possible.

I have the same implant. Surgery about 6 months ago. Mine is like that. The left cyl. Is slightly shorter than the right. About 1/4”. Not really an issue for me. At my follow up visit the Dr. took note of it and was not concerned.

Thanks for the comments. I’m eager to see what the doctor says. The difference is more than 1/4 inch, maybe as much as 1/2 inch.

My left cylinder is the longer of the two for me. When I pump to the max it's not as noticeable as when I feel of it when its not pumped. If it works great then enjoy it. My hasn't caused any issues

Mine was the same way, early on. Pump it up hard and crank it around. They will equalize from then on. My Doc showed me that trick. I though he was going to break my dick in half.

I hate it when threads fade away with no follow up; therefore, here’s an update after I saw the doctor. The doctor pumped me up and showed me where the cylinders stop within the glans. The left one “is” inside the glans albeit probably a 1/4” difference between the two. He said that’s fairly common and of no concern in my case and should improve with use.

He gave me the all clear for sex and I have used it successfully several times since. Everything works wonderfully and to say I’m happy with the results is an understatement. Like most people here say “I should have done it sooner”.
