Tired of the meds and injections

Postby tankerman » Sun Feb 24, 2013 12:23 am

Should I get an Implant if I still respond well to injections?
I am 48 years old have had ED since I was 16, I can get an erection but I can not maintain it, tried pills I dont like the side effects, tried Trimix it has been hit and miss, I think I should get an implant.

My four principles with all medical treatment--taught to me by my cracker jack medical team--are:

(1) Go from less invasive toward more invasive. In ED cases, that would be pumps, pills, injections, implant.
(2) The time to crank your treatment up a notch is whenever what you're doing no longer produces satisfactory results.
(3) When it is time to move to the next level of treatment, sooner is always better than later.
(4) In all cases, do everything you can to improve your health by means you can control: get more exercise, eat healthier, etc. That sounds self-evident, but stop by a cardiology waiting room one day--the room will be filled will fat people. Amazing.

The subjective part is of course, the meaning of "satisfactory results". If you're no longer achieving usable erections for the requisite period of time, then that's pretty obvious. In a case where the injections still work, and there are no discernible side effects, but you're just tired of being a pricksticker, the decision process becomes more complicated. Talk to your sexual partner, your urologist, your GP or internist (especially if you have diabetes or any kind of circulatory issues), and as many people as you can who have taken the "big step" of getting an implant. Evaluate the risks and rewards, factor in the financial side of it, then make your decision and don't look back.

That's my story and I'm sticking to it. Hard times to you, my friend.

Well said Greg and all bases were covered.

And remember, if your tired of injections you will still have to build up an arm to pump it up......

Tankerman - you have a lot of questions. That's good! I did too. I do wish that guys on this site would be more revealing in their profiles. I checked yours to try to determine your age and history, and it is pretty empty. Enough preaching.

I was tired of meds and injections too. But, I was not having the best results with injections, and I was detecting some scar tissue that scared the hell out of me, that I didn't need! That pushed me toward being serious about the implant.

Does it feel natural? Somewhat. Grab my limp penis near the end you will feel the hard receptors that are in the glans. The shaft will also have some unnatural firmness and inflexibility. Your limp penis can be pushed and shoved in about any configuration. The implant will be considerably larger limp than you are now (unless you're a shower) and it won't like being pushed back like the turtle in its shell.

Can you have rough sex with it? Once it heals, heck yea, pound away!

if you girl gives you head and plays with your balls will she know it there? I think so. If you pump before she puts it in her mouth, maybe she won't notice. Limp the receptors in the glans should be a dead giveaway. If she really feels your balls, I don't know how she can miss the pump.

will your whole cock get hard including the head? No. You may be fortunate enough that the glans will engorge, but no guarantee. My ability for a natural engorgement and some stiffening has been coming back. No guarantees.

will you be able to feel the tubes in your dick? Yes.

I would really encourage you to find someone who will let you go hands on. I'm willing, just PM me for phone number and we can make arrangements if you can get to Michigan.

I think I have made up my mind thanks to your help,,,, if I can really notice the implant then I dont want it,,, if my wife can notice the implant then I dont want,,, and I dont want the implant for all the other reasons also,,,, surely the implant sounds like something I just woundnt want to tolerate,,, I thought the implant or I was hoping the implant would be more natural and unnoticeable I must say I am alittle disapointed about all this implant hype,, the way I feel right now is the implant idea can take a long walk off of a short cliff,,, I will just continue to use the injections until they stop working but like I said before having to go in the bathroom and shoot up my dick evertime is a real drag but with that being said atleaste it works good with the injections............ thank you so much for helping me make a wise choice I am so greatful to all of you.

Hey Tankerman im getting a titan otr in 4 weeks...
i'm like you, any bit of information that i dont like i feel very much against the idea of an implant....
but if you read through over 90 percent of info about the implants people are delighted with them...

your harder than ever before, you can stay hard for as long as you want....
if fitted correctly and if engorgment comes for the glans you will be the same size with all the other benefits.....

now saying that, the opposite but less occurring side is
you could be undersized= smaller penis and other complications
you could be over sized and get erosion...
your engorgment of the glans might not come back. so youl have a bit smaller dick and possible floppy glans...

now im just saying all this coz really feeling some bits of the implant really gets out weighed by the positives which seem to be the most occurring..
i think the facts are something like 90 to 95% satisfaction rate with recipients of the implant and there partners...
higher than pills, pumping, muse, injections.....

but i had to make the implant choice coz im young and nothing has worked....
not meaning to be over dramatic
but i had a dark few years and i had couple choices in my mind but i preservered and i decided to try the implant.
and i will be brutally honest about the results!!!!

hello irishguy, we met briefly in the chat room. I am very happy that your life is back on the straight and narrow. i had appointment with my uro today and discussed implants in livid detail/. He is recommending the AMS 700 LGX for me, mostly because he had implanted the titan and another one i cant remember the name of and he has had nothing but fantastic results with the AMS. i guess different surgeons have there preferences. He has also arranged for me to meet another patient of his to talk to him and let me hands on his equipment. Sound weird to be talking about touching another man's equipment but if he is willing i am game. With this is will get to see the finished product and ask the driver how he likes it. i hope you will stick to your word and keep us all up to date on your progress. another guy on the site actually chronicled his post surgery progress including pictures, just waist down and included valuable information about what he found was and was not comfortable during his recovery. you can find his entries under implants. it is called Jerry'sJourney, i think. take care brother, Losangeles
