Quick question for you guys - I’m 3+ weeks Post Op and exercising regularly. My surgeon instructed me to exercise the device at least twice a day but neglected to say how long to keep it inflated. I’ve read in the forum the gamut from “leave it inflated all night “ to twice a day for 15 mins. Anyone have an opinion? Does it make a difference? Thanks in advance.

Re: Inflating the inflatables
Jeanluc3,
General rule-of-thumb ... inflate twice a day for about an hour each ... try inflating until it seems to be uncomfortable (not painful) then add a pump or two every so often. Don't worry the pump ball will be hard to squeeze at first ... but continue even if you only feel like a quarter squeeze is all you get. It takes time for the cylinders to stretch a bit ... then the pumping will get easier.

Re: Inflating the inflatables
I would go easy at your stage, 3 weeks. After a couple more weeks then I would start stretching it out. I was told after my 6 week visit to work up to one hour a day at max inflation. It took me about at least several weeks to get there. I continued this for the first year and gained about 3/4" from the beginning. You will notice that the more you inflate the more you can inflate. I usually can inflate maybe two more times after about 5 minutes in between. But I would just take it easy at first just fill it up tight. The first obstacle I met was the tips, they felt like they wanted to punch through, they probably weren't but it felt that way. After a month or or that went away then the base of the implant would ache. That took longer to get comfortable but it did. As for all night long, I still couldn't do that. I often inflate early in the am before I get out of bed, if I fall back asleep, it begins to hurt after an hour+ and It wakes me back up. Another thing, as you inflate over time, your fingers get stronger too.

Re: Inflating the inflatables
I tried to inflate every morning. Getting in a nice hot shower will allow you to add a few more pumps with minimal pain. Stroking yourself a bit also releases the endorphins and eases the pain. Getting someone to do it for you is even better, lol!
I would pump it to where I thought I could tolerate it for the hour. If the discomfort eased a bit, I would give it another squeeze or 2. Just prior to deflating, I would pump till it hurt, keep it there as long as possible, then release it. I was able to gain my lost length back.
