Hi Everyone,
I’m schedule for surgery march 7, at MGH and I’m getting the titan implant and to be honest with everyone I’m scared out of mind!! Between the pain and the chance of not surviving the surgery and I have to be up and running in 2 weeks because of financial reason. I guess I’m looking for some support.

Guy123:
Just to let you know that you are not alone... FrankTalk members: gregshere, gerryp and me are all scheduled for March 7th or 8th. While I can only speak for myself - I am excited, a little scared but optimistic especially in lieu of all of the success stories that I’ve read on FrankTalk.org. As far as not surviving the surgery…I would not even consider that likelihood. I’m sure the possibility for a fatality for a penile implant is less then dozens of other surgeries and less then automobile, pedestrian and cycling fatalities as well.
Think positive thoughts and look to the future of being able to have a “relatively” normal sex life post op.
As far as pain goes…that’s why we have meds. I always say – “better living through chemistry”
Gregshere, Gerryp and I will feel your pain “literally” and hopefully we’ll all experience a fulfilling future as bionic men! Good luck Guy123!

Hey lads i too feel yer pain im getting a titan otr on the 19th of Mar
scared and nervous too. also only thinking of the what could go wrong and not concentrating on
the 90 to 95% satisfaction rate....
death: iv never heard of any one dying from this surgery. so dont worry about that....
and yes im going to survive the aftermath of the surgery by taking as many pain killers as i can(as per maximum dose)
also what has all of us at this point here is the depressing, emasculating, horrid, mind fucking disease of Ed...
so stay strong and think in mid april you could have a hard on when you want and for how long you want.....
try to think of the positives.... best of luck lads.... let us know how ye geton!!

Hey Guy, I hope you are feeling a little better by now. Guy I am having an AMS LGX the same day as you, one week from tomorrow. I know that surgery can be scary, but you need to look past the short term and look forward to the longer term. I underwent radical prostectomy 3 years ago to the day, because I was diagnosed with prostate cancer. I was only 51 years old, and my wife and I had an active and happy sex life.
At the time, my main concern was not with the possibility of ED, but first to get rid of the cancer, then not to be incontinent. Well I got both of my first two wishes and I thought I would be happy with just that, but I am greedy and it is just not enough. I waited (for nerves to heal), tried drugs and injections and finally settled on VED. After a while the VED just was not spontaneous enough for my wife and I, and we had to work fast to hope I wouldn't lose the erection before the deed was done.
We finally both were fed up with fighting with it and last August I discussed an implant with my URO. He said I was a perfect candidate and I was thinking I would get in quickly and be done and by now be enjoying my new hard-on. I would finally be about as close to "normal" as I was prior to the cancer.
Well that was not to be, because my insurance company would not cover the surgery. I appealed several times, and since my company is self insured, even took it up other channels until I was finally basically told to drop it, if you know what I mean. In November, during open enrollment, I switched to my wife's insurance and they cover the surgery. It was a gamble because the premium is twice as high as mine was, and they could not tell us for certain it would be covered, but I had to take the chance, and it paid off.
During the time that I was fighting with my insurance company, I had to tell more intimate details of my own biology, as well as my wife's and my sex life to more people than a person should have to do in a life time. Maybe it is because of all of this that my frame of mind is so opposite from yours. I am SO EXCITED, and I really do not care how much pain I will be in, because I know it is temporary and will only get better. My wife and I are booking a seven day cruise in early September, and I am looking forward to a fine working toy that we can both enjoy to the fullest. All of the bad is easily washed away by the good that is in store. Remember, 'No Pain, No gain." Don't be scared, be EXCITED. You are going to finally be rid of that limp member!

Re: Implant
Guy, I think almost everyone is somewhere between nervous and scared before the surgery. But the odds of major infection or similar problems are very low. And nearly everyone that has posted on FT has found the pain to be a significant nuisance but in the end it is worth putting up with the pain to get the working results. I am willing to bet that 4 to 6 months now you will be very happy with the results. Hang in there and focus on the light at the end of the tunnel and not the darkness of the passage.

Re: Implant
So I'll jump in also with a quick pat on the back, as we're all in the same boat around the same time. My Coloplast Titan implant surgery is scheduled for March 8. I've had quite a few different surgeries over the years, including prostatectomy, hernia, carpal tunnel, etc., and have never been nervous beforehand. However, I'll admit to being a little nervous right now. But honestly, I've been struggling with ED for almost 10 years, and it's time to put that in the past! I have confidence in my surgeon and after the initial discomfort, know that the ED will be gone and my wife and I can return to the wonderful sex life we had before.
All the best!

Hi Everyone,
I just want to start off saying thanks everyone for sharing their stories and messages. I 'm father of 4 great kids and they look at me like I’m indestructible and tough as nail and my other concern is that I have to be up and running in 2 weeks because of financial reasons. The other day it hit me all at once and I posted that message to get it off my mind “thank God for this website”. I really don’t have anyone to talk to about this stuff.
I just want to say thanks again and good luck everyone!!!!
