Did injection use diminish whatever natural function you had?
Did injection use diminish whatever natural function you had?
I have some function with viagra but I’m thinking about switching completely to injections because of side effects with viagra/cialis. Those who had some natural function or some function using only PDE5i, did that function get worse after prolonged use of injections? And how long were you injecting?
Re: Did injection use diminish whatever natural function you had?
After Viagra no longer worked for me (failures, migraines) and I switched to Trimix it worked good for about 4-5 years. However I had to continually up the dosage after 2 years. It got to the point that my dose was so much my penis would ache the next day. Went to stronger formula, in 3 months it was the same failures and ache. Moved to Quadmix and in 3 months the same failures started again. I'm sure I lost length during the periods of ED when nothing would work. As far as how things are after my implant, they are great. Sex is like normal; sensation is fine, and I can go longer.
Wish I never started pills or injections and went straight to the implant.

I'm not a medical professional of any kind. Anything I post is based on my own experiences at best and hallucinations and/or delusions at worst. Internet forum advice is likely worth what you paid for it or worse. Always ask your doctor and follow his/her advice.
I don't think injections will worsen the effectiveness of PDE5 drugs. It is my understanding that in many cases the underlying condition worsens. In those cases any therapy will seem to be lessening in effectiveness. So it's my assumption the cause of ED determines how well or long any treatment remains effective. I've been using injections for about 10 years. Once I had my technique and dose figured out my dose hasn't changed.
The effectiveness of Viagra has not changed for me. It has in fact improved since I started injections. However, you must take into consideration that Viagra still doesn't do much for me and isn't and has never been remotely effective as a primary therapy. My ED results from nerve damage from an RRP and my experience may be unique to me.
At least some guys supplement the injections with a dose of PDE5 drugs. I have done that a number of times myself. In my case I have much better results with Viagra as a supplement to injections than as a primary therapy. Unfortunately, I too suffer side effects from Viagra, mainly heartburn.
Injections are not risk free but are a fairly low risk. You should be cognizant of potential complications. It is my understanding that a mono-mix of alprostadil (PGE1) provides the lowest risk, if you tolerate it well.
I have no idea why Old Guy feels it necessary go to sub-forums other than "Implants" to proselytize for implants and against other therapies. I'm not a shrink.
Which therapy is best for each guy will vary. I don't know what will ultimately work best for you but you should certainly consider all reasonable alternatives.
Good luck.

Thank you bldoink, your results are very encouraging. I also happen to believe that the situation after RRP-related cavernous nerve injury is relevant to us young guys who have ED and contraction after stretching injury. So your posts are very helpful.

Natural sex is best. PDE 5 supplemented sex is 2nd best. Injectable sex is 3rd best. But it’s all good and better than not making an effort.
69 yrs old with ED for 7 years. Taking Testosterone 5 years.
Tadalafil (Cialis) stopped working after 4 years.
Started Trimix 11/2020 Too strong. Moved to Bimix. (Pap 30/Phe 1) Works Great!

I would have to reorder your ratings for myself.
1. Injectable sex. Absolutely the best of my life. My penis is the hardest and longest it's ever been, girth is crazy great. And even as a teenager, back then there was no possibility of pounding my wife (or girlfriend) back then for 45 minutes straight like I can do with trimix- the erection just goes on and on. I never have to think twice about my erection or concentrate to keep it up. Bargain price.
2. Natural sex. WIth the proviso that this would have been the teenage years up until maybe 25. Then I started to get erection failures.
3. PDE 5. A mixed bag at best. Weak erections, mostly usable if the wife goes very easy on me (then the sex wasn't nearly as good for her), the headaches, and GERD, and visual disturbances make the after-sex recovery lousy.
4. Pump or VED. Nice and hard, but the removal of the ring was very painful, a total hair ripper and skin puller. Rings don't last long and are not cheap. My wife didn't like them as well, the ring used to bump up against her. Orgasm is not as good, gets choked off partially by the ring. Never going back.
64 years old. Had a heart attack with two stents placed at 46, atrial fibrillation surgery at 54 years. Doing great now, lost 45lbs on KETO, ED under control with tri-mix, 5mg daily Cialis, and arginine/citrulline 2x a day. And morning wood is back!

{snip, no need to waste electrons}
All good points. I wanted to see the pump listed in the set of options and others may have a different rank, it's all good. I think PT-141 should be in all such lists, and some of these are not either / or. I use PT-141 with Cialis. And then there's the herbs used as a force multiplier. Don't forget toys. No experience with role playing, bondage, etc but some need that too.
And, there's a totally different point to be made that the "best sex" for a woman comes (sic) not from the penis but the tongue. Or at least that you have to think beyond the coitus piece; I'm not suggesting you were suggesting otherwise. But some people probably have blinders on and expect a female orgasm to arise solely from a requisite massive rock-hard thrusting member.
ED since mid '20, with slight Peyronies. Thus begins a search for the right solution(s); 56yo a/o Sep '21. Three months into my quest (12/21), I think PT-141, Cialis/tadalafil 20mg and L-Arginine (maybe other herbs) are a winning formula. For now.

I've been injecting for almost 2 years now. My natural erections were rarely good enough for sex when I started injecting and I think they're probably a little worse now. Though that's probably due to the natural progression of the ED disease, not the result of my injections.
Like you, the pills gave me bad side effects. Injections have none of those. You can eat food and drink alcohol and it doesn't affect the drug, unlike pills. No headaches, no upset stomach, no stuffy nose. They're simply much less convenient than pills, but they're better in every other way.
44, ED problems began around age 28 when I was on finasteride for hair loss, and also got circumcised so I lost a lot of sensation. Pills gave me bad headaches and other side effects. Now using trimix 30/1/20. So far so good.
