Welcome to the forum, Aaa156.
I think you are misinformed about some of the characteristics of inflatable implants. I have an AMS LGX (reportedly the least rigid of the three most common inflatable implants in the U.S.) and it is fully as rigid as my most raging erections when I was in my teens. Also, the skill of the surgeon (or, rather, the lack of skill) is the main factor in size loss. When I was implanted, I lost not a sinle fraction of a millimeter from my pre-op length.
I do take your point. The medical establishment is not perfect and therefore unable to perform the miracle of an actual full-on cure of ED. The best treatments are just that, treatments. But then replacement limbs are in the same boat and replacement organs are pretty far behind. In the overall scheme of things, life-saving treatments do take a back seat to erectile dysfunction treatments, so please keep things in perspective.
I wonder about your suggestion of lobbying. In its essence, lobbying is either money or government intervention. And you know what they say about government: To paraphrase, "Military justice is to justice as military music is to music." I am not sure i would be happy with a government-issued penis. Or a penis some lobbying forced a medical contractor to invent.
Best regards. And keep the ideas coming. Thinking outside the box is where progress happens.

Firstly i would like to say that what i meant by lobbying is we need to create more awareness out there some how need to be actively involved in the process of finding a cure, We do not want replacement penises we want to repair what we have or find a better treatment such as a life like implant or reconstructive surgery am sure if enough specialists from all over the world were involved we could solve this issue take the covid vaccine it was developed in under a year even tho it may not be as effective it is still something am
Sure they can make some sort of progress ed ruins life it is as good as being castrated you cannot enjoy the simple pleasures of life especially us young members who are contemplating living our life without a proper function organ i think instead of us getting depressed or talking about our problems we could focus our energy into finding a solution for this problem rather then sit in defeat feeling sorry for out selves where there is a will there is always a way(mind my grammer)

Re: We need to find better treatments
I know my two posts in this thread do appear to be nay-saying. That is not my intention. I would have loved to have had a true cure for my ED. Alas, venous leakage is ill-defined and VERY hard to treat on a permanent basis.
Remember, in a capitalist system, money drives effort. Allocation of assets and effort is determined by a huge number of factors including saving lives, making money and improving quality of life. Note the order of importance.
The CoVid vaccine effort was driven by forces much greater than fixing ED. One can live with ED. CoVid kills.
Also, a true cure is likely to be elusive for most men. Not because it is impossible but because individual men find the effort required to be daunting-or too late For example, fixinng ateriosclerosis-caused arterial insufficiency as a cause of ED would be a true cure for many men's ED. But the effort is daunting to a large number of them.

Research dollars & design skills are alloted to "problems". Once a decent treatment is developed. Any new treatment must compete with the established treatment. Its really hard to get those research dollars & skilled people in order to work on a competing treatment.
A case that I'm quite familar with is "restless leg syndrome". I have a family member that suffers greatly from it. RLS has a medicine that works moderately well for a significant percentage of the sufferers. Unfortunately there is a group of people that the drug either doesn't work for or the side effects are unbearable. This drug is now available as a generic. So why do research on a condition that has a cheap generic drug that works well with maybe 80% of the sufferers?
So how does this old guys story relate to your limp dick. Simple my Watson. For ED, the oral drugs work pretty well & are now generic. So there is a big hole in the money picture. The next step is injections & suppositories. Not much money to be gotten there either. The implants are relatively good. Any further improvement on ED will be incremental at best. Of course we can all sit around (limply) waiting for an accidental discovery like Viagra was. It showed up as an unexpected side effect during research on pulmonary hypertension.
As for the infamous venous leak. There isn't a valve anywhere to repair. The chemical (nitogen oxide?) that helps keep blood in the penis only lasts for a second or two. Maybe a way to help on this front could show up as an accidental discovery. But its really difficult to study something whose life is so fleeting.
In the short answer. Avail yourself of the current treatments. All of them work relatively well. Basically like many of the men here have figured out. Save up your money for an implant. Get a job that has good insurance that will cover an implant. I think that you can envision what the alternative is.
Best of luck, Gt1956.

Let me be encouraging for a change. I like your attitude.
Dylan Thomas wrote, "Do not go gentle into that good night Rail, rail against the dying of the light" as advice to resist (the inevitable) arrival of death. So, too, you desire to resist an unwelcome condition. Do all you can.
Pick your venues for the battle, though. Lobbying is only one tactic among the arsenal we have. As consumers, we vote with our dollars. As clients, we vote with letters. That is all well and good, but less than optimally effective most of the time.
As humans, we choose career paths that might lead to discoveries. Science abounds with examples of young men and women who had a vision about changing the world. As a young man, you might be the one who figures out a better way! The man who discovers a true cure for any of the multiple types of Erectile Dysfunction would have a lot of support for a Nobel Prize.

How do You know You have venous leak?
Re: We need to find better treatments
Finally someone on the same page as me! Man I’ve been trying to get people to do this for months now, but it seems like people have already lost hope or are settling for the implant. I’ve even started a petition on change lol.
I found a doctor in Miami who claims to have a solution I’m thinking about giving it a shot. Here’s his video on penile venous leakage.

We need to find more likeminded people like us and take action against ED especially as a young person who has many more years ahead we need to rid ourselves of this.
Re: We need to find better treatments
Where do we start? I’m ready to do whatever it takes to fix this. I’m 29 and been suffering from penile venous leakage throughout my whole twenties.
I’ve missed out on so much because of this. I’ve distanced my self from friends, family and pretty much life itself. I feel like I wasted my twenties being depressed because of this problem.
