Does anyone have a routine they have done for the 4-6 weeks before implant surgery. How long each day, etc? I have a Soma manual pump that my doctor said to get. This is to stretch the area due to scaring and I also have a smaller penis due to dealing with ED for over 20 years.
Any advise is very welcomed.
Using vacuum pump prior to implant surgery
Re: Using vacuum pump prior to implant surgery
Atlabram,
Per my surgeon's instructions,
Seven weeks prior to surgery, 15 - 20 minutes, 2 - 3 times per day and don't exceed 5" of vacuum.
Before each session, it helps to apply a very warm towel around the penis, as this helps to relax the blood vessels.
Pump and hold for 5 minutes (maintaining 5" of vacuum), release, massage the penis, and repeat.
Follow this routine for 6 weeks.
The week prior to implant...NO PUMPING to avoid hematomas (bruising).
Good luck this worked for me,

Re: Using vacuum pump prior to implant surgery
What is 5" of vacuum? I have a battery operated, has an emergency valve, no marking on it, and it doest shut off by itself, has no kind of settings...
Re: Using vacuum pump prior to implant surgery
Sharpes,
My vacuum pump has a gauge on it.
If yours doesn't have a gauge, less is more. Don't over pump for long periods.
Be sure to stop often and massage the penis to get the blood back into the body, then repump.
