Fixing ED with Penile Prosthesis
Hey guys I am 23 years old erectil dysfunction patient because of venous leak. I have had erectil dysfunction all my life . My Doctor diagnosed venous leak on me by cavernosometry test (doppler tests are misleading on diagnosing VL) . I had Venous Ligation Surgery 1 year ago .But it didn't solved my erection problem at all. I am still taking Viagra 100 mg or Levitra one or half hour before foreplay but even this thing is not providing me a normal steady and stiff erections. My doctor suggests me to get an AMS implant but i want to hear from other patients that haves implant . Should i get an penile implant to fix ED ?
Implanted with Coloplast Genesis MALLEABLE on Jan 2024.
I have had venous leakage.
I didnt like the side effects of PDE5 inhibitors.
So far, I am very happy with the Coloplast Genesis.
I am from Türkiye.

Re: Fixing ED with Penile Prosthesis
I'd suggest you to wait for a few years
You are young and have time on your side .. it may suck to lose out on sex life but i would suggest that you wait for atleast 4 years before commiting yourself to an implant

Re: Fixing ED with Penile Prosthesis
There are several guys here in their twenties who have had implants and it is my impression they are pleased, to say the least, with the results. I'm not young and haven't had one, yet. However, I would say if your doctor is recommending it do your homework, find the best surgeon, and do for it.

I am sixty-six years of age and dealing with gradually worsening ED for twenty years. At sixty-three I wanted something that worked reliably. I got an AMS 700 LGX implant in 6/25/13. I am entirely pleased with the outcome. My surgeon was Dr. Karpman.

Born 1948, wed 1969. BPH & Type II Diabetes at age 35. TURP-2002; ED even before that--diabetes. Cardiac valve surgery: 2007 & 2019. Poor results with pills. Started trimix injections in Nov, 2010. Great results from the very beginning.
Re: Fixing ED with Penile Prosthesis
Just so you know, for me this was a 10 year process from diagnosis, pills, vacuum, injections and then the implant. If that gives you a timeline.
AMS 700 LGX Feb 2013.

I don´t understand your suggestion Krishna. Wait 4 years for what? If you have a venous leak , time won´t fix it. He had a surgery to fix it and it did not work. His own doctor told him to get an implant. If you are going to post please give some fundaments. Time won´t fix your problem, if you need an implant, get it.
If pills don´t work and he had de venous surgery and failed, i would go directly to an implant, because Ved and inyections are not a viable option for a young guy

Hi Greg
Thank you for suggesting me to contact to Minnesota
I did before and he answered everything i asked to him . Also he has a Youtube account that he shares his experiences on: youtube.com/user/TheImplantGuy
But i also wanted to hear from other implanted man to look satisfaction rates of implants by its brands .( altoug both statistics shows satisfaction rates are 90% )
I am not sure which one is better, AMS or Titan?
I mailed and asked this to Dr. Jeffrey Albaugh and he responded me that : They both are excellent so as long as the urologist is comfortable with it, either are fine.
Note : I am not suggesting venous ligation surgery ! Even my surgeon was told me that satisfaction rates for venous ligation surgery is very low and the success is temporary . But i wanted to try .Unfortunately all I have is a stitch scar on my pubic area but no good results .
I asked about my failed venous ligation surgery to Dr. Harold Reed ,then he replied : Ligation for venous leakage has been de-listed as a reimbursable
procedure by a major insurance company Blue Cross/ Blue Shield,
in that the operation does not produce durable results. Baby veins the doctor
can barely see, become enlarged to carry on the work of larger
veins tied off, and you are back to square one.
The problem is a microscopic one in the erectile tissue itself. Once the blood
gets into the venules, the larger veins have no choice but to
carry that blood back to the central venous return.

Re: Fixing ED with Penile Prosthesis
Excellent explanation of venous leakage...there is no way repair it. Don't wait to get the implant. Waiting will eventually cost you in length as atrophy is very difficult to overcome. Take it from someone who's been there. Ten years of atrophy cost me about two inches in length and 1/2 inch in girth. When I was implanted scar tissue and atrophy only allowed for a 21cm. implant. Which gives me a 6.5" erection by 5.5" girth. Smaller than I had, but it works everytime for as long as needed. Celebrated 10 months of renewed marital bliss last night.
55 years old. ED since 2002 total venous leakage after penile fracture. Tried all the pills and injections all failed to help. Some success with VED, but felt too unnatural to both of us, seldom used. Implanted 06/21/12. Trying to wear IT out.
Re: Fixing ED with Penile Prosthesis
Just one data point that my doctor told me. He highly recommended the Titan over the AMS product due to the tissue growing into the implant material of the AMS over time. SInce you are so young (I was 44) you will likely need a replacement at some point. He told me the Titan is really easy to replace and showed me an AMS implant that he had to replace. He said it took over an hour to get it out due to adhesion. The Titan has a really smooth material that does not allow adhesion at all. Again, this is just what he told me...Something to consider.
