I have not had any scarring from Trimix but I just didn't want to take any chances going forward. I have also been consulting with Dr. Eid and he said that "Trimix is brutal" when it comes to scarring. Those were his exact words. And so he much prefers straight PGE.

Hi DX,

Have you noted that you had to change the number of units you have to inject? Erection quality and longevity the same? Thanks.

The trimix definitely gives me a longer lasting erection. If I inject 25 units of the Trimix blend that is listed in my sig, I get about 1.5-2hr erection. Plus I still remain hard after I ejaculate. With alprostadil 20mcg, I get maybe an hour erection if I inject 25 units. And I seem to go a little soft after I ejaculate. I may ask Dr. Eid for a stronger alprostadil when I see him tomorrow.

The other thing I will say is that the alprostadil gives me a more noticeable ache. But I guess that is something I can get used to.

How long does this ache last?

I would say the ache lasted for the duration of the erection and then maybe another hour or so afterwards.

Like Martin6469 mentioned I use tiny 31 gauge 5/16" long BD brand syringes and have no signs of scaring. Hundreds of injections since early 2018. I also try to switch sides alternating and try to inject up and down the shaft. I also apply pressure for a minute and then massage it. I feel like the BD brand is sharper and higher quality then anything else I've tried and the extra little cost is worth it for my member. Duller needle points will be harder to poke through the skin and cavernosa causing more pain and damage potentially causing scaring? If anyone thinks there is a better brand than BD let me know because I'd like to try it.

I use the BD brand as well, but use 30G 1/2" (I miss way to often with the shorter ones)

I also use one needle to withdraw and actually swap it with a new one to inject, it may be irrelevant, but I have heard that even withdrawing can dull the tip.

How do you swap the needle without damage or contamination?

I just use the luer lock needles, so after withdrawing unscrew it and put a fresh one on. As I said it is probably not necessary.
