First time with Caverject. PLEASE , help with advice

Postby Stenlie_ » Mon Oct 17, 2022 9:11 am

Hello, I want to try Caverject in a minimum dose (2.5 or 5 mcg), but I have a terrible fear of needles. I bought the Autoject 2 and tried it without injecting. Since I will be doing it for the first time, I will ask for advice. I would be extremely grateful. My idea is this - post 20% + erection and then inject. This way I will be able to see the veins and the corpora cavernosa better. In my opinion, the tunic will also be more elastic and the needle can enter more easily. What drives me crazy is the thought of the needle bending and doing horrible damage....Please help.....any ideas and advice greatly appreciated.

Hi
My first injection was caverject. My uro gave me the first injection, I don't think I could have done it on my own.
I was surprized how very little pain was involved. Just a pinch.
I found out that Trimix worked much better.
It is scarry at first, I would suggest having the Dr. give you the first injection and show you how to do it.
I never had a needle bend.
My uro told me when I first started with injections, that I would eventually need an implant.
That is where I am now, Surgery is Oct 26th.
Once you get passed the fear of injections, you will love the results.
Started with Viagra at age 40. Worked good for about 12 years.
Tried Trimix injections, worked great for about 8 years
Now Trimix no longer works.
I got implant on Oct 26th 2022.

Doing the injections is no big deal. I find doing a manual injection is more accurate than using an Autoject and you are less likely to hit a blood vessel, which will still occasionally happen, but again no big deal.

I wouldn't worry about bending the needle. It rarely happens. I also wouldn't worry about doing horrible damage. I don't think it would be very easy to screw up that badly.

If you can give yourself a chubby that will hang around long enough for you to inject then that probably will make injection a bit easier.

Are you using the Caverject you have to mix with a separate syringe and then change needles or the Caverject Impulse that comes in a proprietary cartridge?

Thanks for the replies.Jimmyd 24 - I want to start with Alprostadil so I don't switch to Trimix from the beginning. Is this correct?
bldoink - I will use Alprostadil, which I have to mix in a separate syringe. Caverject, but not impulse. I wanted to use 29G because I'm afraid of a thinner needle. I will set the autoinjector to 7-8 mm. Is the pain much stronger with 29g than with 30 or 31?

Straight alprostadil is believed to be less likely to cause scaring or fibrosis but none are risk free. If you can tolerate straight alprostadil that's the way I'd go.

I think the Caverject you will be using is better than the Caverject Impulse as it gives you more options.

If you are determined to use the Autoject you do need to use the larger gauge needles. I think the pain difference will be minimal.

For me the Autoject is a bad idea as I would be unable to use my preferred method of determining proper needle placement. If it works for you then go for it.
