I found it difficult to get in the habit of using a VED daily to maintain size. I would read about guys pumping for 30 mins twice a day and wonder where they get the time. I tried to establish a routine but was initially unsuccessful.
I had a cheap VED as I didn’t need the constriction ring function, and figured that suction was suction. So I began using it in the shower each morning knowing the water would eventually ruin the mechanism but would just replace it when that happened.
Since then I’ve been able to be be pretty consistent.
I pump up as I’m just getting into the shower. I pump to the point of discomfort but not pain. The seal may not be perfect so the pressure slowly eases over a minute or two and I reach down to add a few more pumps from time to time. I just continue showering, soap, shampoo, rinse. Removing the VED is the last thing I do, washing and rinsing there as well.
I’m only in the VED 15-20 mins max, but that 15-20 minutes of stretch seems to be enough. I’m maintaining my natural size.
The pump mechanism seems to be ruined by the water getting into it after about 9-12 months. But then I just go on eBay and Amazon and buy another one for $15-$20.
So if you have been struggling to maintain a routine I’d encourage you to try using a cheap one in the shower each day and see if that does the trick. It’s working for me.
This helped me establish a routine.

Re: This helped me establish a routine.
I found this routine to be easily maintained.
Upon retiring for the night, I would go through about 30 minutes of cycling the vacuum.
Upon awakening in the morning (by intent, about 30 minutes before I actually had to get out of bed and start my day) I would go through about 30 minutes of cycling the vacuum.
Sometimes, at night, I would leave the vacuum cylinder in place (with a comfortably less-than-maximum level of vacuum) and go to sleep. I would usually awaken after about 45 minutes and remove the apparatus.
I rarely ever missed a session in the 14 months it took for me to select a surgeon.

Re: This helped me establish a routine.
That’s great. It’s all about establishing a routine that works.
I already disturb my husband’s sleep with my alarm clock in the morning. I get up significantly earlier than him. If I was making noise pumping for 30 mins in bed each morning I would be banished to the couch before I even finished the first session. LOL.

To get any kind of extension in the cylinder, I have to use a lot of lube up and down my entire shaft, It's a real mess. I think this would make it extremely difficult for me to follow the kind of routine you have.

Ah, I understand. I have read many posts from men who do have to use lube. I never had to use any lube at all. My penis is about 5" in girth and the vacuum chamber was generous enough that I rarely had my penis' skin contact with (let alone drag on) the chamber wall. I was also blessed with the ability to get a good seal between my pubis and the chamber opening just going dry. Lucky me.CanGetItUpButNoMore wrote:Lost Sheep wrote:Upon retiring for the night, I would go through about 30 minutes of cycling the vacuum.

Re: This helped me establish a routine.
It certainly helps to have a supportive spouse. Sometimes she'll ask me if I completed my full 30 minute routine both morning and evening if she wasn't around to witness it.
