Bottom line about an implant- it's that or no more sex. If a man wants to live with a limp noodle only good for peeing, that's his choice. Not me.

Some of his info he found is absolutely true

Brent,

You have just begun your journey, because of your age you will have a long one ahead of you. Learn as much as you can from FT, the time spent here is well worth it. Your case is unique, there are no two alike, you have to do what is best for you and only you can make the decisions.

As I have said in previous posts, I have been making love to the same woman for 55+ years and my wife says my implanted dick is "Perfect!" She actually blurted that out when my surgeon's PA asked how it was going, she said, "It's perfect, I can't tell the difference."

I can understand you wanting to keep your injections from new casual relationships, but anything serious and long term I think you will be miles ahead if you are honest with your partner. In a casual setting, with a new partner, I would take the implant any day over injecting. However, if injecting is working for you now by all means continue with it because there will be a point where they no longer work, then what?

Be sure you read Minnesota#2's on-going journal, he is 27 and single, he had his surgery the same day I did, we had remarkably similar experiences, but I am 50 years older than he is.

Your questions and my answers:

1. Your penis don't get really soft. So people see you always with an erection.
This is only true when you are fresh out of surgery and for about the first 4 weeks until the swelling goes down. I went to my high school class reunion 3 weeks after my implant surgery, I bought some new dark slacks and a couple nice silk shirts I could wear untucked thinking my "erection as you called it" was nicely camouflaged. When I got dressed for the party, my wife said, "I think you would have been fine just tucking a shirt in." Now three months out from surgery, it is no problem at all, it is just that you are more aware of it at first, others won't notice.

2. When a women touch your balls she feels a 'lego-brick'
After the trauma of the surgery goes down, again about 4-6 weeks the scrotum relaxes and is more normal, but if they are really checking you out, they will find the pump, then you can choose to be honest or walk away, but then when you're fucking her until she can't take any more, I don't think she will care.

3. When a women grabs,/sucks your cock she feels the tubes
The tubing is the at the base and not that noticeable, if you are speaking of the cylinders within the penis, no way.

4. Many revisions during lifetime
This varies, no rhyme or reason, but in the meantime we are fucking our brains out. Most say the revisions are much easier and say they will gladly go through it again for the results they get.

5. You can't go to the sauna, nude beach or gym
Not true once the swelling goes down, unless you insist on wearing a skintight speedo. I think any attention you would get from the girls would be positive.

6 You get a shorter thinner penis which women don't feel
Ask my wife, she had two orgasms from PIV sex this morning, not bad for 76 years old. At 6 weeks I had my original length and girth back, a lot of this is how aggressive the surgeon sizes. My surgeon, the morning of the surgery said, "Don't worry, we size aggressively here." This is something that needs to be discussed with your surgeon.

7. You get a weird shaped penis
I don't know where you got that, I am 6 1/4", normal shape, it sticks straight out when inflated and my wife says she can't tell the difference.

8. You get a cold penis
In a normal penis there isn't that much circulation until you get aroused, pretty much the same implanted though my glans is not as blood filled as the throbbing, blood filled penis using tri-mix. But guess what, it is working just fine. My doctor says if I want total engorgement there are ointments that can be rubbed on the glans to engorge it.

If I were you, I would just keep doing what you are doing, the time will come when you have to make another decision.

Best of luck!

You are picking things from various guys. I am the guy that had the cold penis with no blood flow. That is because my RP surgeon removed all my engorgement nerves to get all the cancer out. Majority of these guys don't have that problem. Feeling the lego brick? My surgeon set my pump high so it is not down there with the boys. My size is just as long as it was before implant. I only had ED for 9 months after the RP. When I release the pump and same time squeeze my dick it goes down to nothing. It still has good length soft though. After RP it was only 1 1/2 inch long turtle. That was a pain in the ass trying to drag it out to pee. My wife enjoys sucking a softer dick, so I can dial it down for her and pump it up to finish the job. If plaque starts to form from injections you better stop them and reconsider implant before plaque forms a bend.

LOL! try doing some research that is from the 85-90 % of men that are happy with there implant not the 10-15% that are not and you might understand. If you are only looking for the negative you will find it.

Good luck in your journey!

Thanks for posing the question (Is an implant worth the disadvantages?). I hope the answers you have recieved so far have given you some more perspective. Not that your position is wrong or wrong-headed. Not at all. I just think some of your premises are badly based and some of the weight you give to others are in need of re-evaluation.
Brent1 wrote:1. Your penis don't get really soft. So people see you always with an erection.

Simply untrue. Your flaccid state will be larger and stiffer than it was before implant (more so with Coloplast devices, less so with AMS devices) but nowhere near erect in appearance.
Brent1 wrote:2. When a women touch your balls she feels a 'lego-brick'
A non-issue. By the time a woman is fondling your balls, she is highly unlikely to call a halt to sex. Once a woman reaches that point, very little except you being a jerk will change her mind.
Brent1 wrote:3. When a women grabs,/sucks your cock she feels the tubes
See the answer to #2
Brent1 wrote:4. Many revisions during lifetime
And what is the alternative? If you are in need of an implant, nothing else will allow penetrative sex and delaying implantation to reduce the number of revisions is imply delaying one of the joys of life. Even if revisions did not exist, that is no deterrent to an implant if it is truly needed.

Brent1 wrote:6 You get a shorter thinner penis which women don't feel
Untrue. It may or may not happen but most men (with a good surgeon) lose little to no length. Loss of girth is another matter. Girth loss is an issue, but I will point out that a skinny erection is preferable to a girthy flaccid.
Brent1 wrote:7. You get a weird shaped penis
Untrue. With medical misadventure, this my happen but it is rare. All surgery has risks, and infection, death, nerve damage are (I believe) more common than a disfigured penis.
Brent1 wrote:8. You get a cold penis
Largely untrue. Blood flow to the spongiosum tissue is unabated. Blood flow into and out of the cavernosum is largely absent. This may contribute to a cooler penis, it is true, but, in my experience, not that much. Use of a VED (with constriction ring) for sex makes for a MUCH colder penis.

I hold the position that informing any woman with who you are contemplating an intimate encounter or more, a relationship, deserves your honesty.

Brent1 wrote:I think i will stay on the injections. It has also disadvantages, but not as much as an implant

As long as they work, by conventional wisdom, that is the prudent course of action. Implants make ou irreversibly impotent for the rest of your life if the device fails. (I note that you did not mention this disadvantage in your list of objections - one I think would have been first.)

I also lost the throbbing erections of my youth and I miss (and my partner misses) a self-erecting erection that responds to her ministrations. Such response is mightily validating to many women and a joy for them to behold in their sight, in their hands or in their mouth. Very visceral and vital.

But, in my view, none of the disadvantages (the real ones, not the imagined ones) put the implant off of my list of choices, nor knocked it off of the primary choice position. So, I got one and have no regrets. I lost nothing worth keeping with the implant and gained. The ability to penetrate my partner, the ability to have the closeness of of that sort of body contact, the ability to ejaculate as powerfully as I did in my youth (an ejaculation by fellatio from a limp erection, which was still possible before my implant, pales in comparison to what I can have now). Then there is the added bonus of being able to maintain an erection after orgasm/ejaculation. It my be a bit thinner at that point but I can remain inside my partner for sure. And, before or after orgasm, we can disengage, change position and reengage at will. Before implant, that was impossible.

Hi Brent, here is my experience as a 38 year old man with an implant for 1.5 years:

I found this site by Google. I'm on injections, but i hate the route of secretly injection.
So none of my dates know i'm injecting

I thought an Implant was a good alternative. I read hours of posts. But have to say i think it's a bad idea. I don't understand how you can be happy with an implant.
So many disadvantages:

1. Your penis don't get really soft. So people see you always with an erection.

My dick swings in my pants. I can hide it. Its just bigger flaccid.

2. When a women touch your balls she feels a 'lego-brick'

It really takes her a long time to find it. I've never had a woman ask or make mention of it the first time.

3. When a women grabs,/sucks your cock she feels the tubes

She definitely doesn't feel the tubes. Its amazing that is just seems as one piece.

4. Many revisions during lifetime

If you're young, true. I accept it. Its better than having to inject my dick or not have a functioning dick.

5. You can't go to the sauna, nude beach or gym

What? Oh I wear gray sweat pants to the gym if i really need an ego boost. I can also wear big black sweat pants and hide it.

6 You get a shorter thinner penis which women don't feel

My dick is thicker now than before. I can barely fit it in most women. Also, they certainly feel it more now than when I couldn't get it in at all.

7. You get a weird shaped penis

Dick is same shaped as before.

8. You get a cold penis
My dick is always warm because there is still blood blow. I just checked.

WHO TOLD YOU THIS GARBAGE? Either I'm really lucky or you're taking the worst stories and putting them all together as the norm. I personally
am so happy I no longer have to inject. Its such a blessing.
I think i will stay on the injections. It has also disadvantages, but not as much as an implant[/quote]
