Day 17:
This is going to be a quick update and note to self for future reference.
IF YOU'RE STILL HEALING, DO NOT PUMP TO MAX IF YOU ARE NOT ENTIRELY SURE YOU'LL BE ABLE TO FIND THE DEFLATE THE BUTTON AFTERWARDS.
Damn, what a pain, literally. So I wen't to the Dr's office today and everything was looking great. Still have some fluids leaking through a small fistula on the incision, but it's normal according to the surgeon.
Anyway, I was feeling great, zero pain, so while showering today I decided to pump, so I did, everything looked great. Since I just found out about the Perito exercise, I decided to give it a try as well and try to squeeze a few more pumps into the cylinders, great, seems like an effective exercise to increase/recover length. All was good, the implant pumped to max, so it worked, awesome. Then it all started... I thought I had a good idea about where to find the deflate button ,but where was that mf? Nowhere to be found...
Fast forward 1 hour of struggle, 2 codeine pills, pain at 8/10 and a call to the doctor, I decided to squeeze it from every direction I could with plenty of force, not unlike what I was doing before and suddenly, miraculously, it worked, I deflated the mfer.
This was getting out of control though, the pain at the perineum was pretty intense from having the implant max pumped for close to 1 hour and after alot of fiddling and pressing around the unhealed area.
What a lesson! Next time, if you're not 1000% sure you can deflate the implant, here are some tips: Pump 1 or 2 times and then try to deflate. If you struggle or aren't successful, do not continue to inflate the device. If you can successfully and easily deflate, then pump 5 times, try again to deflate and restart the procedure. The idea is to you make sure you can properly deflate the implant before max pumping and not being able to deflate it afterwards. Trust me, not being able to deflate from max pump while you're still sore is extremely painful, and the desperation that follows the thought of not being able to get rid of the pain because you're not able to find/unlock/press the deflate button is quite bad.
As far as why my insurance didn't pay for the medical team, it's likely simply because legislation is different in my country of residency then in the US. They're only obliged to pay for the hospital bills and a medical team that they can appoint themselves, which is likely surgeons with very little experience that are affilited specifically with this insurance provider, and I decided to pay a non-affiliated experienced penile implant surgeon as I didn't want to let my only penis be the first patient of a recently graduated surgeon with no IPP procedural experience.

Any idea how in just 3 months you could be jumped 2 cm (from 22 to 24cm) with you Coloplast Titan implant?

Look at his RTE's. His total installed implant length went from 25cm to 26cm. There is a chance that the 1cm difference was just a different judgement call between 2 doctors. In the long run, 1cm is a little ove 3/8 of an inch. Some of that could be just pressing into his crus a little extra. So his real gain might be 5/16" (about .5cm). Not really anything to get excited about in my opinion.
Oh & for whatever it matters. Both implants are Titans.

That is exactly right now. 2 years with heavy cycling and lots of sexual activity got me perhaps 0.5cm as GT1956 put it, and I believe those 0.5cms gains were all proximal, I didn't notice any distal lengthening. The caveat to this though is that my reservoir was not max filled (90cc/125cc) and a few months after the surgery I was already easily maxing out all the fluid in the reservoir, I believe this could've definitely impacted my gains and my penis was not experiencing any more stretching as there wasn't any more fluid to apply pressure at the corpus cavernosum walls. This time though, I specifically requested for a significant top up of the reservoir, and so he did, now I have 140cc/125cc, apparently the coloplast reservoir can handle the 15cc's of extra fluid. I believe I could experience some better gains this time because I'll have all the fluid I need to apply pressure and stretch the cavernosum. Who knows, maybe in the next revision I'll have better gains simply because of that.

Re: Revision 18/11 Titan Touch 22+3 to XL 24+2 due to tubing failure 2 years after initial surgery
Day 24:
I had a slight fever the past 5 days or so, it comes and goes at this point. Being weeks 3-4, I thought to myself that that was not a good a sign. I also had increased pain around all the implant parts. At the same time, my scrotum appearance as far as color/aspect/swollenness was getting better each day, so that was good.
I went to see the Dr. Today, I've been doing this weekly since the surgery. He said everything looks great, no chance of an infection whatsoever and the fever and pain could be related to something else. I hope that is true.
I went to the Dr's with a slight inflation that was causing me alot of discomfort. I wasn't able to get it down. I was experiecing immediate auto inflation after I deflated the implant, and this has caused alot of discomfort during the past few days.
Doctor found the deflate buttong and was able to flatten out the implant, and now it's almost completely deflated. What a relief, again! so far it hasn't auto inflated back to a semi, which is fantastic.
I was getting extremely concerned that since my reservoir was topped up beyond normal capacity (140cc in it), that was causing the auto inflation and preventing me from deflating and the mind already was envisioning another revision from a revision scenario. That was causing me a significant amount of distress.
So far, the recovery has been easier than the first surgery, but it's far from a joke. It feels like it's two steps forward, 1 back, weekly. At some point during week 2 I thought to myself, "this is easy now, all the revisions are a walk in the park", no, they are not. the following week the pain started creeping up again, slightly, and now I've been experiencing fever and increased pain for whatever reason that might be. All the thoughts and fears of having to go through yet another revision while I haven't even healed from this one, thoughts of going through all the worst scenarios (infection, bad install, major cosmetic issue) have been on my mind. It hasn't been an easy month thus far either physically or mentally. Revisions are no good, it hasn't been fun at all, and I'm not even talking the social, interpersonal, professional and financial related issues that come with having to go through a revision.
I do hope healing continues going forward and I do hope this one lasts at least 5 years. I'd be happy with 5.
I'll continue to update this journal up to the point where I'm healed enough to start getting back to fucking. Then I'm might log out for a while to get my mind of the implant and just enjoy life.
Have a great week everybody!

principles wrote:Surgeon said the exact thing, however I did want to get an upgrade to the XL size since I wanted to reduce RTE's. The only thing that was not replaced was the reservoir. It took me a long while to feel it was completed healed. It'd bother me even nearly a year after the initial surgery after I was running or jumping for more than 20m. The end of 5ks was painful due to the sharp pain near the reservoir. That just happened during heavy exercising though, daily routine was completely uneventful, so I also requested to maintain the current reservoir unless there was a real reason to have it replaced.
Did your doc mention a time table for your return to really working out. I was told that if I kept my reservoir from the first implant I could possibly get back at it much earlier. Doesn’t really matter now because he replaced everything then told me it didn’t need replaced…not sure why he did that

Not really, I wasn't concerned either since the reservoir was left untouched. I still feel it more than before though, I'm still very much in the healing process. I suspect it'll still take readjusting to get back to running and doing heavy workouts. As soon as I feel healed enough, I'll slowly restart my workouts and report back but for now I'm still feeling everything, so it will take some time. I expect to be fully operational within another month.
Do you know if he put the new reservoir in the same space you had your prior reservoir? If yes, then the space is already there, fully healed. If that's the case, then I suspect it won't take nearly as long to feel 100%.

Nope…he dropped that thing in the other side and just like your doc he filled it to the max and put some in the cylinders. Not sure if it’s 140, but I only had 95 in I initially and maxed out almost immediately. I flattened my pump in the first month or two and never really got gains.
