Yes I understand your meeting with him and you may decide to use him. I wish you good luck regardless of who you choose. I just wanted to share my experience with him so that you'll have more info. Personally I wish I had done more homework before the surgery. There are too many high volume doctors with good reputations out there put I believe Vanderbilt does alot too. Pollard is young and he doesn't have that many years out of med school. He has also switched offices in the 2 to 3 years that he has been in Nashville and his office doesn't seem to be on top of things (in addition to his lack of attention to detail)

Yes I can get an erection and I can have sex. I don't really often as the discomfort seems to be worse in the days after sexual activity.

I also have an appointment on the 21st. It's with a physical therapist to see if that can help. I did not have anywhere close to this level of discomfort before the procedure. Never any prostate pain but I did go to the bathroom alot. I may have been predisposed to have this happening but wouldn't have happened if I'd only had the catheter for 1 day.

Also he failed to diagnose prostatitis, something that's can be common after a catheter and he should have made the connection considering the issues I had with the catheter. My regular physician diagnosed it in 5 minutes.

Thank you sir for your reply… mind sharing with me more details and the ins and outs/pros and cons of your new found sex life?

I get so excited reading replies like yours because I am so ready to be able to have sex and actually feel like a man again.

Lots to say man... I've written a lot of my thoughts in my journal in my signature block, maybe if you're interested you could give that a read and ask whatever I missed afterwards!

Wanted to post on this thread real quick as I do plan to document everything.

I have my appointment to talk about implant surgery this Friday. Originally I was meeting with Matthew Pollard (Nashville) and he has since left the practice, which is actually a good thing because I now know he hadn’t done very many of these implant surgeries and one guy on these boards emailed me and told me specifically the post surgery problems he had after having the procedure done by Pollard.

The best news…. I am now meeting with Dr. Paul Knoll, his dad is Dean Knoll (now retired) and has done over 7000 of these surgeries so he’s definitely high volume. Paul apparently learned from his dad as well and still refers to him on a lot of things.

I will update this thread sometime over the weekend and update you all as to how the visit went and the plans moving forward.

Appointment with Dr. Paul Knoll went great. He was very easy to talk to and understood all of my frustrations. My wife even came to the appointment and it was good to have her sit in and hear everything.

So the plan now is to get a baseline. He wants to do bloodwork and then do a scan of my penis and the surrounding areas after injecting me with Tri-Mix inducing an erection to check for things such as a venous leak.

He did say that for someone my age, and as physically fit as I am with no prior history of disease or anything, that an implant is a last resort. I expected that, so that’s all good.

I am very glad that I found this forum prior to meeting with him. I was really able to paint a clear picture of my issues with ED in detail and also asked a lot of good questions that I came up with after reading through almost all the threads on this forum.

I even asked him if he had heard of this forum and he said that he was familiar with it which I thought was cool.

I will continue to update this thread as the journey continues.

Yep there’s a thread I’ve started you should be able to find just poking around my profile titled something like “28M- implant set with Eid for 1/6”.

Everything has been pretty smooth sailing so far tbh.
