1st caverject injection was 7/10/13
1st caverject injection was 7/10/13
Had pretty fair results with 30units about 60%. I injected on my own at home no problems. Took effect in about 5 min so I think it was correctly placed. Most here are using a mix and dosing gets a bit confused when talking caverject. By my calc. 30 units would be 6mcg. Of a 20 mcg/1ml water vial. Anyway teaching nurse said increase by 5 units until desired results. Well that would be only a 1 MCG increase. In booklet with meds it suggests going in 5 MCG increments. I'm thinking of going to 10 MCG next which would be 50 units. Other caverject users any comments /suggestions?

3by,
Although I don't use the Caverject System, I do know this about it.. and this is good to know for anyone who uses one 'mix' for multiple shots.
The mixing produces around .5ml of delivered solution containing 10mcg or 20mcg of PGE-1... It does not make 1 ml of liquid. (techincally it makes .64ml but I guess they add a tiny bit more PGE-1 so that .5ml contains the 10 or 20mcg amount.
This is why you never see Caverject injections listed at 10mcg/ml or 20mcg/ml. If you used the whole shot you get 10 or 20mcg DELIVERED and you don't care about the ml or cc or units. I think that was done because all the users are such boneheads when it comes to the metric system that they wanted to make it very simple to understand.
But for you, trying to figure how many mcg you are getting with a certain ml/cc or units then you DO have to know that what you have is 20mcg/.5ml (or 50u) and any fraction of the 50u will be the corresponding fraction of the 20mcg. So 25u will have 10mcg delivered in it etc.
SImple enough I suppose? Hopefuilly this will be helpful to future readers.

( Also I think the already mixed ampules you can get with Caverject are also set at .5ml liquid? So same rules apply there too)

More confused now A 20 MCG vial of powder all instructions say mix 1cc of water with powder. 1cc is 1 ml is 100 units. My logic says 100 units is full dose 20 MCG. So 50 units would be 10 mcg dose?
If I'm mixing in 1ml how can the mixed solution be .5ml?
OK I just did a bit more research. I think the numbers you have are for the dual chamber systems

Well I guess I missed on my 2nd attempt. On left side 50 units no results. I think I may have went too deep. Inserted all the way same as right side no pain at all. Then pushed a bit more and felt a pinch. Maybe I went out other side. Not large when soft. I don't think mix went bad in fridge in 48 hrs . Well will try again Sunday. Starting to get a bit discouraged.

3by,
Ok so you must have the POWDER ONLY (or including diluting syringe)??? Not the two-chamber kit?
Also I guess the already mixed ampules are indeed 10mcg/ml 20mcg/ml etc.
I guess I will stop commenting on them since they have like 4 different methods of distributing the 'system' and they have all differnt methods of mixing and strengths.

Jim any info is always welcome. Your post made me do more research. Yes I have 6 vials of powder 10ml vial of water and insulin suringes. 100 units 1/2" 30g. I was also surprised my URO actually suggested saving unused mixed portion in fridge. So I'm hoping to maybe get 2 injections per vial. He insisted on starting with this. I've only had minor ache and my insurance co pay is $25.00. From what I've read it also is a bit less likely to give you priapism

Hi
I`ve been using Caverject for about a month, and so far I`ve found that there isn`t a clear relationship between dosage and length of erection. I think a bit of this is due to not quite getting the injection in the right place.
As you say , with the straight Caverject, you get a syringe with 1ml of fluid to inject into the vial of powder, which can be anything from 5mcg up - but the same amount of fluid. So am I being daft in saying that if you dissolve your 1ml of fluid into 10 mcg of Caverject, and then inject half of that resultant mixture, you have injected 5mg dissolved in 0.5 ml of fluid?
7.5mg gives me an erection for too long, but when I tried 5 mcg I think I made a mess of the injections (great bruises on the two injection sites - because I`ve been injecting half of each dose in each side) and it didn`t work. Last time I tried 6mcg and had to take Sudafed after three hours to get it to go down!!
Mind you, isn`t it a great problem to have - blinking great teenage boners once again!!!
PS I ought to add that after reading advice on here, I`ve bought some 1ml syringes to match the BD needles that come with the Caverject. That makes it easier to be a bit more precise with dosage.

I think your conversions are spot on. I want to think in units but..... Info on dosing from company is in MCG. I'm not sure what dose I'm going to try Sunday morning.

You are missing the CC, I have had this problem ever since I started injecting that is why I am opting for the implant, the real bicth is that once it works a couple of times then you get sooo happy and confident that you think your ED is cured and then the injections dont work the next 4 or 5 or even 6 times, like I said its a real bicth that is why I think people drop out of injectionsafter about 6 months to a year, sooo beuitful when they work and sooo terrible when they dont work,,, I hope this helps I hope everyone is having a wonderful weekend. Nathan
I am 48 years old have had ED since I was 16, I can get an erection but I can not maintain it, tried pills I dont like the side effects, tried Trimix it has been hit and miss, I think I should get an implant.

I'M DONE! FULL 20 MCG dose was barely insertable with constriction. All increased dose seems to do for me is extend time / duration. 100 mg Viagra works just as good maybe better. Injections have not produced the results I've been looking for. Guess I must have a pretty good leak. Not ready to up the ante to trimix. I'll go back to my cock rings Viagra and VED.
