LGX...I did it, I did it, I did it!

Guys,

One week ago today I had an AMS MS 700LGX implanted. My uro told me that beginning today, I could begin practicing inflating my prosthesis for 1 hour, ONCE a day until I see him a week from tomorrow. He also instructed me to be sure to learn how to use the deflate button and be able to “lock” the unit so it didn’t auto-inflate BEFORE I started inflating the unit!

Since he left the implant inflated about 30%, I have been practicing deflating and locking the unit. I didn’t have any problems finding and pushing the deflate button, but I was having a very hard time getting the unit to lock so it wouldn’t auto-inflate. I finally figured out that since the pump bulb is kind of pear shaped, if I firmly squeezed the bulb closer to the top of the pear shaped unit I could lock the pump from auto-inflating. So rather than squeeze the round part of the pump to lock the unit, all I need to do is slide my fingers up to the narrow part of the bulb and I can squeeze and hear and feel the “click” that locks the unit from auto-inflating. When I was practicing in bed the other night, my wife also heard the click!

THIS MORNING I inflated my implant to about 80% (in the warm shower) and it was absolutely wonderful to feel and see a firm, erect penis, something that I haven’t seen for several years. As some of you mentioned it was a very emotional moment to realize that I FINALLY have a permanent solution to my ED! But I hope the pump bulb gets a bit softer because the spot on my scrotum where I squeezed the pump is a bit sore. I’m sure the fact that the stitches are still in place at the top of my scrotum complicates the situation but they are beginning to dissolve so that particular pain should go away by the end of the week. Tonight I will break my promise to my uro this one time only by having my wife observe the inflation so we both can anticipate and celebrate what is to come.

Next Wednesday when I see my uro, he said that if I can demonstrate to him how to inflate, deflate and lock the unit, then he MIGHT give me permission to begin having intercourse again. You better believe that I will be practicing as much as I am allowed this week so that I can get his permission to begin sharing the sexual component of my marriage relationship with my wife of 40 years who has been awesomely supportive of this implant! A DREAM COME TRUE.

hey Bob,congrats and practices makes perfect(or good enough anyway...lol) on putting that demon (ED)behind you.
only this group truely understands the old saying,you dont know what you have till its gone.
well my friend it is with beer in hand that i raise and toast to you and your wife.May you both now completely enjoy what so many of us took for granted in our younger days(even tho i'm only 42)and through the grace of god and a surgeons hand has been given back to us in a little miracle we call an implant!

I thought about writing "cum" instead of come but I want to anticipate the total package of an exciting future which for me means focusing on the whole relationship including the sexual concept of "making love", not just intercourse and ejaculating. Being able to re-learn how to make love with my wife will take some time since we have been so focused on being able to complete the sex act that things had become very mechanical and the emotional attachment was left in the dust! But as I said, I thought of using the word cum so it's good to know that my thoughts are normal!

By-the-way, some time ago you wrote a posting about how you accomplished your stretching/expansion with your implant by using a sock filled with beans/seeds and heating it in the microwave to help handle the stretching pain along with massaging your penis. I printed that article out and have it on top of my dresser because I am going to try your method and see if I can expand/stretch my length and girth. Thanks for passing that information along.

Thanks Jere. And I even got my "membership card/pump key chain" from AMS to prove it. Neat! And starting tonight, the urologist wants me to inflate the implant as much as possible without causing great pain and keep it inflated for 1 hour before deflating

It sounds like our urologists are basically on the same page. Didn't you say they trained together? Mine had me start pumping up at one week and at three weeks I have no visible bruising. It's still sore and I'm continuing to have autoinflation, which he says will resolve. Follow-up is in three months.

My urologist (Dr. Avila) trained under Dr. Karpman who is now in California. I had my first "full" inflation last evening and it was awesomely hard. I probably pumped up a bit more than I should have because my glans especially was getting very sore by the end of the hour. Now if I can keep doing this for at least 1 hour each day then I should have things pretty much working. I see my uro next Wednesday and if he's satisfied with the way I can inflate, deflate and lock the unit from auto-inflating, then he said he MIGHT give me permission to have sex again.

I,too, was having problems with auto-inflation until I discovered that if I squeeze the bulb very firm and quick near the top by the valve box rather than further towards the end of the bulb , then I could hear and feel the click which auto-locks the unit. I hope you get that worked out because I know how it feels to be walking around with half an erection sticking out of my shorts.

My only problem is that although I get close, I cannot get my body to ejaculate. It seems like there is some kind of "mental" fear of pain that I might experience which is blocking that experience. Any suggestions?

I'm cleared for sex but haven't tried it yet as I'm still pretty sore. The autoinflation is gradually improving. Initially i was erect standing at about 2:00 o'clock. Now it is less volume and at about 4:00 o'clock "partially deflated. That is approaching gym ready. If it will stay pointed down and not hurt I think I wil be satisfied with that aspect. Dr. K is encouraging me to pump up as hard and frequently as possible. He also prescribed a medication called Pentoxifylline, off label, that IN THEORY may help reduce scarring. It has been used as conservative treatment for Peyronie's so it makes a certain amount of sense. He is kind of a trip. Yesterday he fully inflated my penis and commented: "Now that is a good looking penis. You'll have a lot of fun with it." LOL.
