Alprostadil pain

Postby Frenchie » Tue Feb 07, 2023 10:33 am

Is there anything you can do to lessen the pain from Alprostadil injection? Also does the pain go away with continous injections or should I pursue another route for my ED. (There is only Caverject in my country. No Bimix or Trimix
Venous like since I was 20 years old. Pills don't work too well. Thinking of implant in the future

Ugh. I identify with you. I really suffered with ache from the prostaglandins. Eventually I switched to a mix that is essentially BiMix + Atropine for extra effect.

Is there anyway to import BiMix? That seems like the solution. (TriMix usually has prostaglandins, Phentolomine, and Papaverine - so that’s not as helpful). Perhaps a business in the USA that receives packages and then forwards them to you? BiMix doesn’t have the same requirements for refrigeration that the prostaglandins do so the medication shouldn’t degrade on its way to you. Try searching the web for US based businesses that can do that. Then you’d find a US Based online MD/prescribing urology service. There are a few.

I’m not sure that adding local anesthetic (like lidocaine) to your injection would be an option. I wouldn’t want it, I wouldn’t want anything that reduces sensation. Who wants a numb cock? Not me.
55yo, NYC. ED started at 40. 50 units BiMix + Atropine (Pap 30/Phen 6/Atr 0.2). Prostaglandins caused aching. Doses increasing. A cock ring helps. Phallosan Forte tension devise to maintain size. Eager to talk about implant experiences.

Try supplementing the injections with Viagra or other PDE5 inhibitors or add a novelty/sex shop cock ring. Either could allow you to use a little less alprostadil.

With the cock rings you'll have to experiment to find which ones will work for you. Expect rejects. The ring is worn around your dick behind the boys. When a ring with proper tension is correctly sized it reduces blood loss and pulls the suspensory ligament tighter. If you go too tight to where all blood flow is stopped you are limited to 15 - 20 minutes of wear. That's too tight!

With the PDE5 inhibitors use care when combining with the alprostadil until you find out how sensitive you are to that combination.

In both cases use as little of the alprostadil that will do the job. I frequently use all three, injections, pills and rings. Don't just jump into that usage. I've been doing this for a fair number of years and have learned what my reactions to all three methods are. Use caution!

Yes, in many but not all men who experience alprostadil ache it does moderate or disappear altogether with continued use of alprostadil.

There are some men that can never tolerate alprostadil. You then must avail yourself of what options are available to you. I think in Europe there is a second injection alternative now.

If you live in Europe - you can buy online Invicorp injection from Great Britain. Very efficiency and zero pain. Caverject is awful

Trimix can cause more scar tissue and risk of Piraprism than Alprostadil, that is why is illegal all over the world except in the USA where money beats the safety of the patients
I had a trauma 2 years ago, caused me narrowing, dent and shortening. PRP injections three months ago=worse narrowing, and worse ED. Now I only have two choices: impotent or implant. Born in 1975, in a relationship with girlfriend fir 4 years

I had some major ache from the alprostadil the first time I used it. Went on for hours. Not bad enough to keep me from using it, however, and continuing to do so. The ached started to lessen quickly with each use and after a half dozen tries it didn't bother me anymore. Hope it gets better for you, as well.

I know there is a risk of scarring from papaverine/phentolamine. They told me it was a risk from the beginning. In my case the Caverject/Alprostadil/Prostaglandin E1 just hurt so damned bad I couldn’t use it regularly. I managed to get 32 years from injections using bimix/trimix and when I finally had implant surgery at age 63 there was no sign of any scarring, fibrosis, or any injection related problem.

I’m sorry you had a bad experience with the drug. In many respects it was a miracle drug for me.
It would be interesting to see what % of men who use bimix/trimix end up with scarring issues. But I specifically asked the doc who tore my wiring out that I wanted to know what he found when he pulled out the corporal bodies what the looked like after 5000 injections plus or minus.

Hi everyone, I also live in Europe and have been using Caverjet for a few months, after my radical prostatectomy due to cancer that caused me total dysfunction, I had about 15 injections, the first few were discouraging.... the pain set in after about 45 minutes and lasted for more than an hour. Currently I can not say pain but only a nuisance very easy to bear. Just my experience

Hello from me. I used alprostadil twice and never had pain. The first time - 5 micrograms and there was an erection. Second p - about 8 micrograms and no erection. I use an auto-injector. I was surprised that I felt ABSOLUTELY nothing during the injection. Am I not passing the tunica or just no pain with an autoinjector? I even checked that the needle had come off the piston. I hold the depth corrector between C and D. which is about 8-9mm. The strange thing is that there is NO pain neither during injection nor after. And the other strange thing is that at 5 micrograms I had an erection, not even a long one, but I did, and at 8-8.5 I didn't. Without changing the depth.

I don't have any experience with the auto injectors. However if the 5 worked and the 8.5 didn't I going to have to say you missed with the 2nd shot.
