Testosterone Injections

Anyone here besides me doing subcutaneous testosterone injections? This is where a very high gauge needle is used to inject the testosterone just under the skin. My regimen is 0.2mL every 4 days. This is an alternative to those big every two week shots in your butt or leg that can put you on wild swings of testosterone. The sub-Q method helps keep your testosterone levels constant and avoids estrogen swings and such.

If anyone is interested I can make a short tutorial video of me giving myself a shot and upload it. I've found that it is much, much better than the whoppers they give you at the office or you give yourself at home.

Let me know if there's any interest in a tutorial video and I'll post one for you folks.

I'd love to see the technique; I was not aware this was an option. I'm pretty happy with the Testopel implants I have, but that does involve monitoring the T level so the doc knows when to re-implant.

Crap...i hadn't seen any replies and i did my injection last night. I do one again on wednesday this week so i'll webcam it. It's easy, fun and ... well.

Well issues with webcam and getting laptop positioned...anyways. Here is the cutting edge doctor video on subQ injections (that's not me, i'm not that buff!). I did mine tonight but had a hard time getting the T into my skin!!!! Weird, didn't want to go in. Needle went in but the T liquid didn't want to. This guy isn't my doctor but he's got everything in the video that I would have too - so I'm not endorsing him, just giving you a look at how to do TRT differently. I just do 0.2mL every 4 days using a 29gauge diabetic needle (probably close to the same size as the trimix needles some of you guys use) - the trick is to inject slowly. That fine needle makes a jet of liquid that will cut tissue. I typically take 2 - 3 minutes to inject that 0.2mL. Remember - you must, must, must be aware of your labs with any hormone therapy. I definitely like this method more than using the harpoons the doctor's use.

However, all the docs i've mentioned this to freak out and say "you have to inject T into a muscle!" if that's true then why does it come in a gel too? I won't go into the theory of using subQ but it works very well for me.

Also - does anyone know why you get sent to a Uro when you get T and not an endo? Uros should be all about plumbing, endos should be all about what makes and keeps the plumbing working.

From what I have read on other sites and an opinion formed when my wife had a consult from an endo.

Endo docs tend to think they know everything and are not open to new trends or ideas that a patient may bring to them.

Urologists seem to be more open and helpful, and are filling the gap left because endos have dropped the ball.

Just sayin' .....

Strange thing is that uros tend to score fairly low in "nice doctor" category. Endos are on the diabetes gravy train. But I agree...most have dropped the ball and left 1/2 of the human population hanging by a thread.

Hopefully the video helps. I just realized that my T therapy has made by belly so furry that you couldn't see me inject myself anyways! Oh well.

Although you wouldn't notice it at first, my uro is an arrogant prick. A couple of incidents in the 16 months that I've seen him lead me to say that.
