Journal- Surgery with Dr. Billy Cordon in Miami

Postby atul21 » Wed Mar 01, 2023 3:51 pm

Hello FT members,

Finally my day of surgery is here tomorrow. I joined Franktalk about 6 months back and wrote my story here-

viewtopic.php?f=6&t=20496&p=189386#p189386

I was supposed to get my surgery done by Dr. Eid in NYC on the 03rd of February 2023. However, just 2 days before my date, I was told that Dr. Eid has fallen sick and will be on a long leave.
Since, I already had done my pre-op with him, I had access to his personal cell phone number. After waiting a few days I asked him if he can recommend me a different surgeon as my situation does not allow me to wait a few months for this surgery.
He recommended to me Dr. Billy Cordon in Miami who has trained under him and as per Dr. Eid he is able to mimic his surgery technique of no-touch.
I also took consultation with Dr. Jonathan Clavell whom I quite liked as well. But finally I went with Dr. Eid’s recommendation and am here for my surgery in Miami.

I was lucky to get an early appointment with Dr. Cordon whom I pinged on Instagram as his office at Mount Sinai was not helping in giving an early appointment. He responded back on Instagram and was very understanding and empathetic of my situation.

Yesterday I met Dr. Cordon for my pre-op and he is a genuinely nice guy who wants to help and get you the best results. He spent time to answer all my questions. I will be the first surgery of the day and will get operated at the Skolnick Surgery Tower in Mt. Sinai Miami.

I will stay in the hospital for 23 hours and then sent home. This was optional but I chose to stay for a day. He gives general anesthesia for this surgery because he says it is less hard on the patient.

I will be getting a Coloplast titan. Dr. Eid has measured me at 13 cms during my visit to him. I expect the same sizing to be achieved post recovery and cycling. Honestly at this time a working dick is all I want. 0.5-1 inch here and there is not something I would lose my sleep over.

Dr. Cordon mentioned to me that he will be giving me a nerve block with a steroid for pain management and also which will help minimize swelling. He was also against staying in bed whole day and told me to stay active by walking around the house, watch tv while sitting etc. for the icing he said he you can do it but not spend hours on it. This is different from what many other doctors have suggested including Dr. Eid.

I was told I can fly back 3 days after my surgery. I am staying with my sister at NJ so will fly out on the 5th morning. A follow up video consult after 2 weeks will be planned with Dr. Cordon and if necessary I will make another trip to Miami to learn how to use the implant and get a go ahead.

I will also try to take an appointment with Dr. Eid to show him my surgery results if possible.

Right now I am staying at an Airbnb in Miami. All my prescriptions have been taken and I am all set. Of course I am nervous but also I want to believe that this is the best solution to my problem and that it is just a matter of few weeks of discomfort.

I will keep this journal active and provide as many updates as I can. If anyone has any questions, feel free to ask me here or by PM. I want to give back to the FT community as much as I can. Also, since Dr. Cordon is not discussed much here I would like to document my experience so that anyone who seeks surgery by him in future can benefit.

For now bye from my side. I hope to do a post again tomorrow after my surgery!

Regards,
Atul

Good luck to you! Everything will probably be much better/easier than your mind is telling you right now.

I flew to Houston and was implanted by Dr. Clavell one week ago today. I have no bruising, no swelling, no pain and minimal discomfort only because I'm trying to keep it pointed up as much as possible and I'm not used to that feeling. I iced pretty much nonstop for the first and second day, and stayed flat on my back. I flew home 43 hours after surgery, Dr. Clavell recommended that because the nerve block would still be working and would make the flight home (4 hours) much more comfortable. He was right, the flight home was no problem at all.

I was prepared to look like hamburger down there and to be all colors of black and blue for a week or two. I think I saw one spot of bruising the size of a quarter for a 36 hours, and nothing else. I can identify my pump and all parts of it, the bulb, the block and the deflate button without pain.

I can only chalk that up to laying flat and icing without stopping. I'd get up and walk the hall of the hotel and try to get in 1000 steps each of the first two days. Now I'm back at work (desk job mostly) and have been since yesterday. Honestly, the worst part is my stupid gut pushing down on my dick head as I sit in my office chair. It's my own fault being fat like I am.... ;)

Thank you for your kind words of encouragement. Your recovery sounds very reassuring and I would be thrilled to feel the same way after 1 week. I feel both Dr. Clavell and Dr. Cordon are the new generation top class surgeons who can combine the best of old school and new age methods (like the nerve block)

I can’t wait to wake up on the other side with this problem behind me. Have lost a lot because of it and now I am fully motivated and committed to start a new life.

greetings, bionic, brother! I am also in South Florida. In fact, I’ll be flying out of the Miami airport tonight. I wish I had a little more advance notice because otherwise I would’ve dropped by the hospital to wish you well personally.

I am eight weeks postop. Implanted on January 4 by Dr. Clavell. My recovery has been textbook, and as JAGE64 above relates, the nerve block worked like a charm, I was able to fly home comfortably, like him, I experienced virtually no swelling, or bruising, and nothing that I ever would describe his pain. The entire time I only took one pain pill, and three Tylenol. That’s it.

Now, at eight weeks in, I am cycling aggressively daily. in just over a week I go to Thailand to see my girlfriend there and inaugurate my new bionic penis! Can’t wait!

So if you’re reading this today, you’re probably laying on your back with your dick all bandaged, pondering what the future holds.

I maintain a great optimism for you, wish you the best in your recovery! Please keep us posted.
Active, athletic 63 years old. Sexually, still 33 in my mind and spirit. Pills and injections all worked, until they didn’t. Diagnosed with veinous leakage in 2022. Coloplast Titan. 22 CM. No RTE. Peno-scrotal. Implanted 1/4/23. Dr. Clavell.

Thanks ThailandBound! May be I will see you in Thailand cos I don’t have a partner right now and might make a ‘testing trip’ to Thailand :D

So here it goes-

Day 1-
Before surgery:
I was the first person to get operated today by Dr. Billy Cordon. He did 3 implants today. So I was scheduled for surgery at 7:30 AM and had to report to the hospital at 5:30 AM.

My surgery was done at the Skolnick Surgery Center at Mount Sinai Miami which is a new facility (opened in 2019) my impressions of the facility is very good. The staff is very polite and caring.

Dr. Cordon gave me the choice of staying 1 night at the hospital. I availed that and I am glad I did. Will explain the reason below.

I reported to the lobby at 5:30 Am post which they took my id and sent me inside for check-in. After check-in I was taken upstairs and was in the holding area. Lot of nurses and anesthesia nurses came and asked multiple questions and explained to me what can I expect. Great experience!

It took some time for them to finish all these formalities like paperwork, canula placement for iv etc.

Dr. Cordon came by and answered few of my questions. I reconfirmed with him that I will be getting Coloplast titan. He said we are good to go.

I was then taken to the operating room which was massive. A nice music was playing. The anesthesia team was talking to me and Somewhere in between I must have dozed off.

After Surgery:
I woke in the recovery room with 2 nurses around and checking on me from time to time. I was very groggy at that time so can’t recall much of what happened. But I do remember that I was a lot of questions which the nurse was answering very politely and without any irritation.

They injected me with a blood thinner here and cleared me to go to my room. An ice pack was already attached to my dress.

I was told to drink juices water etc and try to pee. I felt a huge burning sensation everytime I moved. I am not pain free but have a consistent mild pain of 2-3.

I tried multiple times to pee but was not able to release more than a few drops. This was reported to the Urology department. Next I see that Dr. Cordon himself and another Urologist colleague if his came and told me that we will put a catheter now to ensure the bladder is emptied.

Having the catheter inserted was little painful but bearable.

Dr. told me that he inserted 22 cms Coloplast Titan with zero RTE’s! I was happy to know that no RTE was put. He said that no surprises happened in my case and that he did the no touch to perfection! He also mentioned that my curvature of penis will get better and that my size will also remain same.

Till now I am very happy with everything. I had mild pain and chose to ask for a painkiller which was given promptly. I am of the opinion that one should eat painkiller if in pain rather than bearing with it.

Right now I am just relaxing and getting my calves massaged by this machine to prevent blood clots and also enjoying looking at the Miami skyline! I will be discharged tomorrow after they make sure I can pee on my own. I hope that happens because I don’t want to go home with a catheter.

Anyone who considers surgery in Miami should explore if they can stay for a night at the hospital. I think its totally worth it. I know there is a higher risk if infection in hospital but this facility is top class.

That’s a wrap on day 1.

great report Atul21, now it's just a waiting game. You're over the hump of worry and second guessing, the job is complete, all went well. Now it's just healing, well done!

I agree, there's no extra cm granted for not taking pain pills. Luckily I only needed Advil and Tylenol, but it was nice having a bottle of the hard stuff if I needed it. (and it's even nicer to have it on hand if needed for other things)
