Re: How many pumps ?
16/24/35/50 pumps doesn't mean anything, when we deflate in the system there is always fluid different from the time before, we don't even know if the rear part of the system was empty or full, so it's just a number that it changes every time

Just started trying to cycle. Just reached one hundred thirty pumps. It's hard but has a way to go to be max. Probably my pumps are not as strong as experienced users as I am still learning how to deal with the implant. Each pump is held 2 seconds and paused 2 seconds between pumps. The bulb goes down about 50 percent. I know the Titan XL has larger diameter cylinders, but that's a lot of pumping. Hope it gets easier or will have to just leave up for days at a time. LOL Any help is appreciated.
This is strange to me. I have the same pump with same 24cm size. I'm at max within about 15 pumps, pretty rock hard. Although I'm only 4 weeks from surgery and not getting to my full girth so this may increase in time. How could it require 130 pumps? have you contacted the coloplast rep?
I am 6 weeks post op. I finally maxed out about 170 pumps. Could not move the pump at that point. Very hard, yet girth is not impressive nor length, but I did not expect that either. That was last night before bed. This morning, just now it was still maxed and pump was solid, no possible to pump more. So am going to max out today, and be careful to press alll the way each time, get a good count of consistent presses and see where I am. I expected maybe 50-60. I will talk to the rep. I guess his contact info is on their website. Thanks for the suggestion.
15 pumps to max is impressive. That is from fully deflated? I am careful to fully deflate as I am involved in physical therapy treatments for awhile and I really don't want curiosity seekers in their little gym with no privacy. Randy
I am only slightly less post-op than you I have a 20 cm in plant with 3 cm RTEs due to my weight, from fully deflated I can maximum pump my penis about 12 times. And then wait about 15 minutes and I can pump it another two or three and then wait about 15 minutes then another two or three and then maybe one more in the final 15 minutes. After the first 12 even my dick could be used to pound nails into a piece of wood shy the bruising. I would seriously consider talking to my doctor or the coloplast rep if it were taking me a hundred pumps to reach maximum hardness, it sounds almost like your lockout valve isn't working or alternately is partially working or you've got some problem with how you're pumping it. I am fairly confident that if I could even pump it 130 times my penis would explode so would the implant so would the tubing and the ball. That does not sound like a reasonable number to me, based on my experience.
Just to make sure I wasn't making a unsure counts, my wife just did a squeeze test on my dick, and it becomes sexually usable about eight pumps, now I would not consider that a great hard on by stretch of the imagination. By 12 to 13 it has lost all flexibility outside of the base. By 15 it feels completely hard, ala 30yo erection... By 17-18 it feels like a 17 yo erection and I use lotion to prevent skin tears (happened before.) Over the next 45 minutes I should be able to get another 3 to 5 pumps in quite painfully.... And then the ball will not compress (still fully inflated and not dimpled), and due to some of my hobbies I have a several hundred pound grip strength. If I'm in hot water I can add one for two additional and still tolerate the pain.
Morning is my cycling time, so that's what I'm doing right now actually, I went a little early and squeezed until I could not compress the ball any further, and that gave me an additional four squeezes, I tried using both hands and managed to get one micro squeeze in further and I will tell you now it fucking hurt a lot. I had my wife attempt to squeeze it with her hands and she can't even compress the ball at this point. So call it 22.5 and my wife says it is as hard as her silicon wrapped hard plastic dildos... And have I mentioned a fucking hurts. Dr. P exercises would cause me to scream in complete agony... It would be like trying to bend a tree trunk. 12 to 15 is my current limit if I'm trying to do bending exercises. And that does not feel good.

Agree with the above. That’s too many pumps.
My sweet spot is about 30. The last 10 needing two hands and are not full pumps. I can do the Perito exercises and squeeze in a few micro pumps after that.

Yes calling the Rep. It seemed strange to me that I never reached any kind of pain with all that pumping. Never had any pain even after fully inflated. But the penis held hardness overnight. I could never describe that hardness as steel for pounding nails, or any stretching sensation. Even at max, I could see loose skin on the shaft, not really tight like a natural erection.

Just let us know what the rep says about it, I am curious and every man is different maybe yours is just inherently more expandable than mine or - slightly oversized or something similar in yours is normal. But it doesn't sound like that based on others experience in the forum. I would definitely be curious what they have to say though.

KeithC wrote:Damn! You guys pumping over 50 times makes me think there is something wrong with your implant or you're not really giving the bulb full squeezes.
I've had my AMS700 CX 24cm since mid October. I will say the longer I have it the more squeezes it takes. 20-25 pumps is about all I can get on mine and the bulb is solid. I fully squeeze the bulb each time.
In my case, with a 24 cm Titan, here is the maths:
Non-inflatable part of a cylinder is about 5 cm.
Inflatable part: 24-5=19 cm.
Diameter 1.8 cm = radius 0.9 cm.
Volume per cylinder: 3.14*0.9*0.9*19=48.3
Total volume in two cylinders: 96.6 cm3.
In a lab, the pump can deliver 2.5 cm3 in one pump, but in reality less.
But assume your pumps are 100% perfect and squeezes every saline molecule, how many pumps would I need to reach the maximum hardness/fullness?
96.6/2.5=38.
Again, that's a theoretical number. In reality more.
If I just get 2 cm3 per pump instead of 2.5, it would be 96.6/2=48 pumps.
If I do full wall to wall pumps, or at least as close to that as I can get using a two-hand grip, I get to 35-40. So I am not strong enough apparently to fill it 100%.
On the other hand, doing those full pumps is something I stopped doing a long time ago. Just doesn't make sense to me for two reasons.
1 - It will probably break something eventually. Either the bulb itself or I will wreck something else in the process since I will inevitably pull, twist and push things more when I use more forceful movements.
2 - It is faster to pump with smaller pumps and do more of them. Smaller faster movements just gets the job done faster than bigger slower movements. At least for me.
So I do 60-70 pumps, more shallow, but faster pumps.
In your case, with a 24 cm LGX of diameter 1.6 cm, the maths would be:
Volume: (24-5)*3.14*0.8*0.8*2=76 cm3.
Minimum number of pumps to reach full hardness: 76/2.5=30.
More likely in real life: 76/2=38.
Same length implant, but different volume and different number of pumps needed due to the LGX's smaller diameter.
18 cm LGX estimation of number of pumps in practice to reach full hardness:
(18-5)*3.14*0.8*0.8*2/2=26 pumps.
So I am rather questioning whether people doing 10 pumps are fucking with a limp dick.
Cheers.

I am probably getting in the beginning, half pumps and winding down to quarter pumps toward the finish. My hands are large size --3xl gloves-- so when squeezing my heel toward my finger pads or toward my knuckle, I don't have as much leverage as it was designed for. Cannot just use thumb and two fingers due to the slip factor and less force with that method. I was careful yesterday and still got over 100 pumps without hitting max. Wife wanted more hardness so I pumped another 15 over that. Wife really isnt't strong enough in arms or hands to contribute. I have a follow up in May with surgeon and I will be talking to the Coloplast rep. As I do not know how much fluid was installed, cannot draw any conclusions yet. If it is underfilled, that would cause more pumps. Does not seem to leak as it holds hardness.

Re: How many pumps ?
I'll add my 2 cents
When I first got my implant and was able to start cycling, my bulb was VERY hard. It would take me 100+ pumps to get it hard, maybe more.
As time has passed, my bulb has gotten softer, but it is still semi-hard. now by 60 pumps I'm usually hard and after a few minutes I can pump a few more times.
I'm looking forward to my bulb softening further so I can be hard by 25-30 full pumps.
So the number of times you have to pump might be as simple as the pliability of the bulb and if you can fully squeeze it, or if it's still hard and not "broken in" and the pumps are nowhere near full pumps.

My pump bulb is very hard. It is difficult to pump to begin with and gets more difficult the more I pump in a session. The variables I know as a new patient boggle my reasoning power. Length and diameter of cylinders, Amount of tubing installed in the XL model customzed to the patient, the reservoir size and distance from the pump. the amount of fluid installed in the system at surgery, all combined with placement of the pump and deflate device and probably other variables I don't know. In addition what happens when the system is not completely filled with saline? Doesn't air just compress within the cylinders? I had thought it would be a closed system with fluid moving back and forth between penis and reservoir. I will call the rep Monday and when we return I have a follow up scheduled right away with surgeon. The thing works for sure. I am hoping the pump gets softer and the pumps get easier. I will have a month to find out. I would not be dissatisfied with 40-60 pumps to max out.
