Bad Trimix experience
Bad Trimix experience
I was having very intermittent success with PDE5 inhibitors like Viagra so we decided to go with injections. I think my issues are mostly psychological since I have healthy nocturnal erections. My urologist injected me with 40 units .4 ml(?) of Trimix and was rock hard in minutes but after 41/2 hours with no sign of it letting down I met him at the ER which was not a pleasant experience. He wants to try me on .4 (something - units are still confusing to me) of PGE-1. Does this sound right? Could I go down to .1 or less on Trimix? Should I start with less PGE-1? I'm pretty gun shy at this point. Any sage advice would be appreciated.

Drew...
Yes... .4 ml = 40 units. Seem like a HUGE dose to me but much depends on your formula.
I inject 3 units and get nice hard erections lasting plenty of time to finish what we start.
I would never try to out-guess your doctor. My first injection at the doctors office was 8 units.
Have a discussion with him. At lease you now know trimix will work for you... it just a matter of dose adjusting.
Good luck and enjoy those future erections !!!

Re: Bad Trimix experience
Hello,
I hear trimix is known for the long erections - I just started PGE 1 with a recommended dose range of .6-1.0cc. The most I injected was .9 and I was hard 2 hrs. Normaly I go 1hr or so. Anyway if you can tolerate the ache , this stuff works well !

Re: Bad Trimix experience
I thought the most common response to a long lasting erection was to reduce the dosage not change the medication. I would think the next step would be to reduce the Trimix dose to 25 units not switch the medication. Obviously you respond well to Trimix.

Re: Bad Trimix experience
Doctors should prescribe PGE1 for patients like you who are able to get erections with minimal doses. I don't know why they directly prescribe TRIMIX or BIMIX. I had the same experience like you and had my doctor prescribe me PGE1 alone. With PGE1 there is less chance of priapism.

After the trimix experience my doctor decided to downscale to PGE1. First he called in a prescription for Edex which the pharmacy wanted $950 for 3Ml after we figured that wouldn't work for me he called in an order for PGE1 to a compounder who charged a more reasonable $90 for 5Ml. First injection was 20 units followed by another 15 units about 20 minutes later, Had a reasonably good experience with an hour + duration. Next time I bumped up the dose to 50 units which only lasted about an hour which I shouldn't complain but I wouldn't mind a longer experience. No pain by the way. Next time I think I'll push it by another 20 units and then consider moving up to Bimix or a super low dose of trimix. Any thoughts or suggestions?
