Insurance
Insurance
Hi guys…….quick question about insurance…..will insurance cover a revision if it’s medically necessary even if they won’t cover the original implant? Also, if you pay out of pocket for an implant, will the doctor fix any revisions that may be needed as part of the original implant price or will he charge you thousands more to make the correction? Seems to me if the surgeon screws up, he should fix it for free if the patient paid cash for something that didn’t turn out right the first time. Hopefully this is all a mute point as i’m trying to get insurance approval but if they deny it, i want to know what I’m getting into if I have to pay cash. Thanks in advance . I really appreciate reading all of your posts!
48; Oral meds early 20s-mid 30s. Lots of side effects. Inject ever since, with 4 hrs or longer episodes of priapism. Thought was OK since they weren't longer. PD now. Logistics & pain of injecting have made me seriously consider an implant.
Re: Insurance
Very good questions. You don't say where you live but I suspect that the answer could vary a little by what state your insurance is issued in.
I know that it might be awkward but an inquiry with your state insurance commission might ease your concerns. Also, talk to your drs billing people.
