implant candidate

Postby lee_ms » Sun Sep 15, 2013 12:12 pm

Greetings,
I’m 61 years old and became impotent in 1996 at age 44. I went to a urologist that year and he recommended an Osbon pump which I still have. I started using viagra when it became available in 1998 and it worked good. I’ve used viagra/cialis/levitra over the years with most of it being purchased online at huge discounts from indian sites such as supersavermeds. I’ve seen negative feedback about supersavermeds but I’ve made several purchases there without any problems.
Over the past year something changed. The PDE5 inhibitors were not working as well and I started having difficulty getting and keeping an erection. During the last six months they haven’t worked good enough to have intercourse.
I went to a urologist about a month ago to try injection therapy and it hasn’t worked very well. I tried the shots in steps up to and including a full 1ml without ever gaining a full erection. The best I could get was an erection of about 80 percent and I could maintain that only while standing or kneeling. Within a minute of lying down I would lose at least 50 percent of the erection that I had.
At this point the only thing that works is the vacuum pump and I have mixed results. I don’t have a large penis and maybe that’s the problem. My size is about 3 inches flaccid and about 5 inches erect. When I use the pump it sucks part of my scrotum into it which is quite painful and unless I get the tension ring positioned exactly right the erection leaks down pretty fast.
I’m considering a penile implant and would appreciate feedback. I’ve seen many success stories and a few horror stories. I don’t have any scarring or other factors that I am aware of that would prevent using both chambers.
Is there anyone here who is my size that has an implant? How has it worked? There must be urologists all across the u.s. doing penile implant surgery and surely some are better than others. Is there any websites or forums with information about recommended urologists and those to avoid?
Thanks
Lee
BTW I have been reading articles about “low intensity shock wave therapy” has anyone tried this?

Hey,
I was about your size. 4 inches flaccid and 6 inches erect prior to the surgery. Now I am about 3 flaccid and 5 erect.
Unfortunately I was one of the 5% with complications. Extreme edema and two uti's. Now it is all healed.

My recommendation is to find an excellent surgeon close to where you live, so you do not have to drive home. You need to be flat for two weeks.
Also, check out how he does the procedure. I recommend the scrotal route. There is a little less trauma to the penis and zero scar above the penis.
You can watch these videos on Youtube.

Use ice and motrin and staying off your feet.

Mine is a worse case scenario, and it is over now,
Thanks, gary

I just had mine done in June. I was about 6 inches before peyronies. We did the stretch test in the Doctors office and it came out a little over 5 inches. 12 weeks post op and that is where I am at. A little over 5 inches, just about 5.5. There are many excellent surgeons through out the country. The ones that I would say are mentioned most often are Dr. Eaid in NY Dr Kramer in Baltimore and Dr. Milman at Vanderbuilt. Dr Milman prefers the LGX and the other 2 docs mentioned do Titans 99 percent of the time. If I did not have peyronies I probably would have went with the LGX. Since I had developed a pretty severe curve about this time last year I went with the Titan. The Titan is a stiffer device than the LGX. The LGX grows in length.

Most of us seem to be happy with which ever device we received. The most important thing is finding a good surgeon. If the surgeon has not done at least 500 implants than I would not let him touch me. Not that there are not good surgeons out there that are not high volume. I just want to do everything I can to put the odds of a successful outcome in my favor.
Welcome to the board. Read everything you can.

I think you have the bottom line on "many success and a few horror stories". There is a probability of problems happening but that probabiltiy is small. If you have mostly problems with any means of getting an erection, you reach the point of taking the gamble so you can move from mostly problems to a high probability of very satisfactory sex. Don't worry about the size. A dick that doesn't work is useless no matter what the size is. And the docs can give you one that works no matter what the current size is. I suggest you go for the surgery.
