How do I get past this painful soreness?

Postby New_Member » Fri Jul 07, 2023 1:47 am

I’m only day 2 post-op and my dick feels sooooo sore. Not even able to fall asleep because of the consistent throbbing pain (around a 5-6). I’ve taken 2 Tylenols an hour ago, using ice (not very consistently) but I’m not seeing enough symptom improvement in order to be able to fall asleep. Is this just a waiting game? This early recovery process has been rough for me.

tylenol never worked for me. What worked was keterolac (doctor can only prescribe) or ibuprofen 600.

icing helps with swelling but not with pain in my experience. I recommend changing your pain killer

You are very early in the recovery period. I had my implant on 10/26/2022 and from what I remember the pain starts to subside after two weeks. Hang in there because it will get better.

My dick felt like it was full of broken glass for the first 7-10 days. It'll get better, take your stronger pain pills if you need

Definitely sounds like you need something much stronger for pain. Doc gave me hydrocodone and tramadol, those didn't work for me and switched to Percocet. The first week or so will be painful, sore, hurt, etc. That was major surgery, remember.
Try your best to chill. I was a couch potato for weeks.

Use ICE this will reduce the swelling and the pain level! Also use strong pain killers, I got it IV in the hospital the first 4 days. So ICE and PAINKILLERS are the way to go! I know what your talking about cause I was also in much pain the first week. I could just lay down!

Have you contacted your surgeon for a stronger painkiller?

I managed with Tylenon 1000mg(4 TIMES A DAY) along with a Narcotic pain med.
Of course lying in bed and icing along with it.

Please talk to your doctor.

Thanks guys. I was really struggling last night and it helps to hear from fellow implantees. It's a bummer to hear that I'll have to deal with this pain at least for the next 7-10 days, maybe even 2 weeks. I caved in and took my Ketorolac prescription and wow, I feel so much better this morning. I might just stick to this prescription and hope that it can suffice enough to get me through the next week. This journey has been a lot more difficult than I expected! I must not have read enough journals, because I saw a lot of guys feeling good after only a few days with minimal pain throughout their recovery.

Gabapantin was the best thing I took for pain. I hate any of the opioids. I get constipated.

If you can’t get anything stronger just cycle ibuprofen then Tylenol. Cycling them every 4 hours. Ibuprofen first then Tylenol 4 hours later then ibuprofen 4 hours after that.

Dr C did my implant too. I was one of the fortunate ones. I’m guessing the nerve block didn’t work for you since you had pain. I’m glad you took the stronger pain medicine. I only used the strong stuff once. Otherwise just tylenol.

Rest your mind. It will get much better. Right now sucks for you. You’ve never thought of your dick quite so much with your constant chub. Been there. Now (6 months) postop i can pump to 100% for an hour and it doesn’t hurt. I don’t even think about it, much, during the day anymore. Unless i hace day sex.
