Hi, new guy here. I'm 53, overweight Type 2 diabetic that is fairly under control, but improving. I've had ED for the last 5-6 years, with no pentratration in the last 4-1/2 years.
I've only recently started having relations with the wife in the last 2-3 months, consisting of HJ/BJ with only maybe a 50% erectioon, not near enough for penetration. I got one of the sex shop pumps and 2 Spartacus Elastomer rings that are a small inside opening (I barely had an average size to begin with). I've been pumping for the last week and a couple of evenings ago, used the rings. I got a pretty good pumped erection that stood out vertically. We tried penetrating from standing bedside, doggy, and missionary, and each time the force of trying to penetrate forced the blood from the erection. I had to re-pump each time. My wife was well lubricated with CO and naturally, but is still a tight fit (lucky me). I've not taken any meds for ED, and would rather not due to the expense. Any tips??

If your erection fades while penetrating ... then the ring is not tight enough. The cheap pump is fine but cheap rings are just a waste of time. Find a good quality medical grade ring that fits, and you'll have better results.
There is a wide variety here: http://www.vitalitymedical.com/tension-bands-penis-rings.html
As for ED meds, you can get them pretty cheap here: alldaychemist.com - search for: Tadalafil (generic Cialis) or Sildenafil citrate (generic Viagra). Works out to about $1 a day for the daily Cialis ... many guys here use that site ...

I always get good results with the ErecAid Tension Band by Timm Osbon. The price on the above link is $22; however, I believe I paid only $17. Try a Google search and see if you can improve on the price.
When I first encountered diabetic induced ED, I found Viagra worked well for the first ten years. Many doctors offer free samples to let you test to see if they work. You should ask your doc. If they work, you can source generic sadidafil from alldaychemist.com in India for under $3 per dose.

Re: noob question on pumped erections...
used three rings of lesser tension to spread the restriction and had a good hard erection, that resisted hand pressure to push the blood back out. I believe this may be the ticket. The medical rings are expensive to have to buy multiple sizes to have a fit. I also don't think they would work with my pump. I have to admit that the penetrative sex is more for me, but my wife looks forward to it, also.
Re: noob question on pumped erections...
OK, the cheapo rings aren't lasting more than once or twice. Will the Encore rings work with my cheapo pump, as in will they fit and then slip off when fully under vacuum?

You can try slipping the tighter rings on your pumped and lubed erection after exiting the cylinder. Or, try placing the ring(s) on before going in the cylinder and pumping with the ring(s) already in place.

Age 73 New to thistoday and read with interest about VED's and their use. Nowhere did I find information as to approximately how long an erection lasts - on average - with the pump? This assumes someone has properly practiced and is using it (the pump) fairlly effectively.

rschrad,
It would be best if you started you own topic ... but anyway, most guys use a restriction ring with their pumps to maintain their erection. Depending on your level of ED you'll find that a VED by itself will produce an erection in the tube ... but once the vacuum is released the erection fades rather quickly. Thus the need for a ring.
You can find a variety of rings here: http://www.vitalitymedical.com/tension-bands-penis-rings.html

Hey Richard!
Welcome to FT.
If you pump up your penis and slip on a tight tension band, your erection will last for an hour or more. However, mine starts to loose sensitivity after 10 minutes and I need to remove the constriction after 20 minutes or so in order to avoid damaging the penile tissue due to lack of oxygenation. If I do not slip on a tension band, my erection begins to fade immediately.

Re: noob question on pumped erections...
I've stopped pumping for an erection to attempt penetration. I'm having better results with adding one of the rings with loops on to my semi and stroking and kegeling in more blood that way, like dtwarren suggests. I use the pump mostly for "exercise" now. My A1c is going down and I'm noticing more nocturnal chubs, not a full on hardon, but certainly better than I've seen for a long time. The pumping and the renewed activity are providing benefits. During our last efforts, my wife commented that I was certainly more of a hand- and mouth- ful than in the recent past and that she was very pleased....
