Although I can’t really tell any successful stories yet as I’m still in recovery. I will say that the main thing that got me through along with the gym was looking forward to getting an implant. I feel like if I was working out, but impotent at the same time what would be the point?
The day I got the implant I felt a smile come on my face knowing I was on the other side of this.
The depression that comes along with ED is severe. I have a few more weeks until I can get out and about in the dating scene, but I already don’t think about impotence anymore. Before, there wasn’t an hour that didn’t go by where I thought about it.
Implants restore erections and positive mentalities.

I saw Dr.Eid on one of his you tube videos stating that"the biggest benefit of the implant is that we stop thinking about ED".

I can identify with part of Franklin22's experience. As I was getting prepped for surgery. I wasn't worried at all. I had a minor circumcision 10 years earlier so I had an idea of the pain & healing process. As I woke up, I thought to myself. This isn't so bad. Actually about day 3 was the worst day.
As I've recovered I tell myself that tomorrow will be incrementally better than today. Could't say that before surgery.

My surgical experience was great. Very little pain . Dr. Clavell uses a nerve block that lasts for several days. My newly implanted penis looked like someone lit a brick of fireworks and stuffed it down my pants . It was horrific to look at for a few days . Swollen, like REALLY SWOLLEN! My dick would hit both sides of that portable plastic urinal they send you home with from the hospital. It was bruised as fuck ! At one point I wondered if it would ever look the same again . Of course it did get a little better everyday and is better than normal now . Loving the implant life !

This sounds like a great experience. wanted to ask you, did you do penoscrotal or infrapubic surgery? do you know if the reservoir was placed in the retzius space?
Did you have a catheter in your penis when you went home?
thanks!

Dr. Clavell does penoscrotal. I never heard the term " retzius space " so I don't know the answer to that . I can tell you that after I started cycling it felt like the reservoir was just below my belly button to the right. No catheter. After surgery they won't release you until you pee . I was able to pee immediately after they woke me up .

Re: Pros and Cons of an implant....
Discoverynew. Just in case you was asking me that question.
Mine was penoscrotal which is what I wanted. My dr wants you out of the hospital as quickly as possible. Too many infectious germs there. So he uses a catheter for 1 day only. Too many men fear a catheter, it isn't as bad as they fear. No nerve block either. Pain pills were provided. Day 3 was a bit rough, took an extra pill. In hind sight, I didn't transition from ice to heat early enough. I think days 3 & 4 would of been easier if I had done that. Also, I didn't take Ibuprofen agressively enough early on. It made a huge difference.
My penis was swollen but not heavily bruised. I have no idea where my reservoir is. I didn't use a portable urinal even though I had bought one. Just pulled my hips back like I was bending over. A gentle push down on my penis & it all worked fine. I did get a few drops on the tile floor. I folded up some paper towels & hid around the right side of the toilet. I seemed to drip in that direction. I used my right foot to wipe up the urine & pushed the paper towels back into their hiding spot.
I've said this many times. The fears of the surgery are frequently overblown & only occur rarely.
Reality is, my agressive cycling might cause more discomfort than the surgery did after the first week.

Thank you! Does it mean you can feel your reservoir somehow? Different doctors put the reservoir in different places.

No ... I cannot feel it . However when I first started cycling I could tell where it was at for a week or 2 . I was approximately 60% inflated for 4 weeks after surgery, so when I deflated and moved that saline back up to the reservoir for the 1st time, it was still sore and kinda felt like a cramp . That's the only reason why I know the reservoirs approximate location. Today , even when cycling, I can't feel the reservoir at all

Re: Pros and Cons of an implant....
I've just started following these discussions 6 months post my implant, best resource on the planet for guys to share.
Almost everything I read is consistent with my experience. I had radiation 19 years ago for prostate cancer, I did remarkably well for 15 years, 20mg dose of viagra for confidence from 5-12 years out, tried injection and hated that, up'd the viagra, Then rapid ED for 5 years, then VED, hated that. 1" loss in length in 19 years, mostly atrophy in the last years. I'm not concerned with length, I want it to be reliable and it is. I wanted my self-esteem and it's there. It's all good.
Cons:
I would say the con, that nobody here mentions, is that I'm never flaccid, there's stuff in there, the tips near the end of penis, they're hard and I'm frequently aware of them. Not pain, awkward discomfort. I was sized very well. I was a grower, so it all makes sense, not a big package to put in the cylinders. The reservoir is a bit annoying in tight pants. Oh well . . . We (all of us) are doing this for the erection but we forget that a soft flaccid dick is actually a nice thing when you want to hug, dance, hike, walk down the street, walk naked (in your house) etc.
I wouldn't go back, I'm just saying that's my one con.
A rock hard erection anytime, for as long as I want. And she wants. Can't beat that.
