New and worried

Postby Blippo » Wed Jul 26, 2023 4:28 am

Hello everyone, I've read before joining and I'm worried!

I've struggled with Ed for 12 years, I'm 60.
I've used cialis for that time. At first I got morning wood with the pills and erections within manipulation.

Nowadays I need manipulation and think I may have been lulled into a false sense of safety by websites that said older men need manipulation and erections will be softer.

Suppose I wanted to hear that and got blase. So now I fear things are worse.

I can still get erect but only from manipulation, occasionally without pills too but I have to be sitting or lying. If stood up forget it.

No morning wood.

Does this sound like venous leak?
Any way of staving it off? Exercise and diet.

Should i see doctor.

I have high bp on Lisinopril.
I also have inguinal hernia.

Many thanks everyone

Welcome to FT.
ED seems like a thing that affects a lot of men as they age. Lifestyle, medical history, nutrition and many other factors make it difficult to pinpoint what causes it. As far as cures I have yet to read or find a way to fix ED without pills, needles or surgery.
At this time it might be best to schedule an appointment with a men's sexual health urologist. Diagnosing venous leak requires some tests be done. Once they determine if it is VL or something else they can offer some sort of help.
Best of luck moving forward.

Thanks old guy. I think the position dependent is the worrying thing and lack of morning erection.

It dies sound like venous leak.

The only other plausible explanation could be porn induced as I am quite addicted.

Does ED ever plateau out and stabilize or is it always progressive?

Hi Blippo----
75 here. Progressive ED so slow, you barely notice for decades. Then boom. Got Implant 5 months ago. The difference is night and day. I screwed around and wasted years before I investigated and got the implant. Lots of pills with ever decreasing effectiveness. Cock Rings, the costly ones. Minor help if at all. Implant==== Blast off. Anytime, any place, any reason. Quit the paralysis of analysis. If your dick isn't allowing you to fuck the way you want for at least 30 minutes, trade it in for the newer model.

Watch out for lisiniopril. It screwed up my kidneys. Lots of better choices. That was prescribed because it is cheap.

Live long and prosper. Live the life you want.

Many thanks everyone

What alternative is there to Lisinopril? Another ace inhibitor or something different altogether?

I am holding off the implant as there is a risk it doesn't work I think. As with all surgeries there's a risk. So at the moment I'm struggling on - but it does get me down!

Hi Blippo
I've tried cialis too, didn't work as good as Viagra.
If I was you Id' try Viagra before going any further.
There is also Muse and trimix gel, Edex
None of them worked for me, but everyone is different.
Then there is Trimix injections, that worked for me for about 8 years.
Started with Viagra at age 40. Worked good for about 12 years.
Tried Trimix injections, worked great for about 8 years
Now Trimix no longer works.
I got implant on Oct 26th 2022.

Everyone is different. What can work for you can only be found through trial and error. For me a combination of Viagra, mono-mix alprostadil injections and novelty/sex shop cock rings are the ticket. Has been for 11 years.
R.R.P 2011 Mayo Jacksonville, Dr. M. Wehle. Not nerve sparing. C in margins. Radiation 2023, V.E.D, Viagra and PGE-1 (80mcg/ml) injections @ 8 - 14 units. Originally Edex20, then compounded PGE due to cost. Inject. 12 yrs. It works. Treasure coast of FL.

Sorry for the late reply, did not see the other half of your comment.
Stopped lisinopril----went from 5 mg doxazosin to 8mg per day. Added AMLODIPINE 5MG/DAY

Again, a visit with a men's urologist who specializes in sexual health will give you the options you're looking for.
ED is normally progressive, but that doesn't mean you can't have something that works now. Explore options, but it starts with a doctor's appointment.
