Penoscrotal incision question

Postby aussiePeyronies » Tue Aug 08, 2023 6:10 am

Did your skin at the incision site thicken ? If so, did this resolve over time?

Thanks,
J

Mine felt like they "rolled" the edges before stitching it back up, now just over 6 weeks post op it's not as noticeable. It feels a little thicker, but has softened up quite a bit since surgery. It will probably soften up more as time goes.

That's good to know since they just redid mine 3 weeks after the original surgery ... I don't think the Dr. himself did it I think it was one of the residents and he signed that he was present the whole time. The quality of the stitching the first time compared to the second time there is no comparison, looks like a hacked mess.

Yes. A little over 3 months later I can only feel a thick spot at one end. Btw, I had to search for it. I expect that it will disappear just like the rest of the incision did.

Thanks guys, good to know. I am 6 weeks post-revision with peno-scrotal incision and removal of scrotal web. The skin at the incision site has thickened a lot which makes deflating difficult. I guess it should settle over time.

I had a Hydrocele surgery in the 80's and my implant with scrotoplasty in 2018. When I went to see the surgeon for my repair in 2021 he could not find any scar. That is one of the advantages of penoscrotal surgery is the scar can be undetectable. Takes a while but it can happen. I have not had a infrapubic surgery but I have read the scar or scars are more visible. Most men say pubic hair will cover up the scar.

Cheers, but it's not the scar I am too worried about. The skin is numb and has thickened, this is making it difficult to deflate as part of the scrotum is thick.. The numbness also extends to the base of the penis.

Seems perfectly normal to me. With a scrotalplasty & a revision being done. You've had a lot of skin cut on. You should expect this. Didn't you go through something similar with your initial surgery??
