Facing seroma: looking for advice

At week 4 after the operation, I developed a seroma around the pump. Hakky told me that I should get rid of it by 4-6 yeaks. I am looking for advice to i) prevent any worsening of the seroma, ii) speed things up. Cold has little on no effect

For those of you who experienced this,

1) did you had to wrap the damned thing of did it eventually disappear without such mechanical help?
2) Did you adapt your cycling? I do not feel that cycling makes it worse but I don't trust my perceptions

I have a nice fat seroma/hematoma still around the deflate valve, and I'm 5 months post op. I expect it go away over the course of another 12 months.

It doesnt bother me at all, but took some adjustments. I have to pump by gripping with bulb with one hand and bracing it up against the other for additional pressure wwhen getting to max. Previously, I could grab the bulb with both hands but now seroma gets in the way.

Being cold makes it more difficult to find the deflate valve. Being warm or hot makes the seroma liquid much more fluid and you can push it out of the way.

The good news is that its slowly shrinking. Even when I'm cold now I can find the deflate valve fairly easily, where before it took some digging.

No pain from it. Balls look massive. Makes my dick looker smaller because of how big the nuts area is lol.

My seroma seems to change daily. Some days it’s fluffy. Other days it seems to be dissipating. It’s never gotten worse. It’s stayed the same size but just seems fuller some days. It’s been there since 6/23. Surgery was 6/19.

I wrapped it with no change.

I’ve been cycling twice a day and having lots of sex. It never hurts or affects the use of the implant. I go back to see Dr Hakky about it Friday after next.

He mentioned a procedure where he could drain it. I can’t remember what he called the procedure but it involved a drain. There’s always the inherent risk of puncturing part of the mechanism, though small.

He advised me to wait and see a month ago but I’ve seen no improvement. Cold, heat and compression haven’t helped.

It’s not a problem for me functionally. It’s just cosmetically unappealing.

Thanks for your answers, guys. I'll wait for 6 weeks and think about a puncture if it did not reduce by then, because I really don't want to spend 5 months like this. I find it way too uncomfortable.

He told me the same but my point is not merely cosmetic: it is uncomfortable, I can't stand for long so, if it does not evolve, I'll have my local urologist puncture it.

Seromas are very common after any surgery, especially ones that involve removing something or placing in a foreign object.

Most surgeons just stick a needle in the seroma and draw out the seroma fluid. Maybe its different with the implant, but I dont see doctors putting in multi-day drains in seroma patients who develop them days/weeks later. Just a simple needle/draw as if they were taking a blood sample.

Ok, well I woke up this morning and the seroma was still there. This afternoon it’s gone. It’s weird because now I can feel the tubing going to the pump and everything the seroma was surrounding. I’m not going to hold my breath and assume it’s gone for good. I’ll lyk.

Lucky you! Since you got your surgery middle June and I had mine end of July, it is safe to postulate that I'll get rid of it in 4-6 weeks like Hakky said. Finger crossed
