Pain around reservior

Postby annoyed31 » Sun Aug 27, 2023 4:30 am

Hi, I am 6 weeks post-op, recently i have developed a slight discomfort pain around pump, its like dull pain with pressure on pubic area. Gets worse standing or walking?

Somebody else experienced this pain? If yes! How long did it take for it to get better?

I can not ask this question to my surgeon, because he will not simply a fuck about it.

I had several revisions starting in September 2022. It went from a Titan that got infected to a malleable, then another malleable and back to a Titan. I’m 10 or so I weeks out.

In each operation different things would cause discomfort. I surmised that your body reacts to each implanted part in its own way. My scrotum doesn’t like having the pump in it. That’s my source of discomfort. I have a hematoma that is slowly but surely going away. Not painful, but definitely uncomfortable.

Some guys come out of this with almost no pain from day one and other guys don’t feel right for months.

It’ll most likely resolve in its own.

I am two weeks post op and also get this same feeling around the reservoir area, although not much pain, just discomfort similar to what you mentioned. I’ll definitely ask my surgeon about it and get back to you.

That usually happens to me sometimes after I wake up. The pump presses into my groin area and causes pain/discomfort. Happens to me because I side sleep. Some pain is normal. You are only 6 weeks out. I would give it atleast few more months to settle.

Your post title says reservoir, but I think you mean pump in the scrotum. My reservoir is unnoticeable.

I'm 7 months out with a CX. For the first 2-3 months or so I felt almost chronic discomfort from the pump, first, where it would press against the perineum and second, where the scrotal skin rubs on it. A CX pump has ridges that seem to grab the skin from inside and rub into briefs. Have tried all kinds of underwear, looser briefs, tighter briefs, big-junk briefs. I have found the most comfort with good quality all-cotton briefs (Calvin Klein daytime) and (Hanes at night). Most of the discomfort is gone, especially when driving and sitting on soft surfaces, that used to be very troublesome. Big Junk briefs let the pump get down between the legs, don't work for me, in the trash. So for me, trying different brands, sizes, styles of underwear and giving it time.

Another thing, I had a tubing revision which made everything much more comfortable, the doc didn't trim anything down (duh) in the original surger, a coil of reservoir tub crowded the contents. This tubing was making rotational force and the reservoir so that the sharp edges of the pump control were pointing directly forward . . . big source of pain! After revision the pump sits with the button pointing almost towards the back.

My still ongoing complaint, I've posted elsewhere here, are the tips in my penis when it's flaccid, uninflated, its unpleasant. My dick is a bit odd looking. There's no such thing as flaccid, and the cylinders are snakes and bend back and forth. My penis wants to point forward unless the briefs hold it up. It's just weird, and I don't know if in the long run the bent up cylinders will fail. But, medicare got it's dollars worth, the erection feels great and works. I just miss my little grower dick disappearing.

I had discomfort from my reservoir since my surgery. I can still feel it and I know it is there. Not so much with the pump but again I know it is there at times. Just a small price to pay for beating ED. Another source of discomfort is the cylinders if you have a deep Crus like I do. As I am now setting on them all the time now. Just takes time to adjust to them being there.

This is just a speculation, atul21. Do you think the discomfort could be related to your bladder being full (in the morning) and pressing on the reservoir? Does voiding the bladder bring quick relief? If you sleep partially inflated, is the situation more comfortable?

I was actually referring to the pump and not the reservoir. The OP has mentioned reservoir in subject but talks of pump in the post. For me the pump kind of pinches into my scrotum and perineum area during sleep. I have tried to avoid it by placing a pillow in between, sleeping naked etc. It is more prominent on few days and fine on some. I usually try to deflate myself fully as I was advised to do by my doctor and Dr. Eid both. This was more valid in my case as I was oversized. I will however take your suggestion and try to sleep with a few pumps in and see the difference.
Regards to bladder being full, I do find that I am naturally engorged and more full in morning (almost erect) which improves after I pee. I have spoken about this extensively in my journal.

I saw a different surgeon today, he said it is normal no need to worry, hernication of reservior is a rare thing. shouldnot be problem for a young guy. did ultrasound to confirm.
