When I was first started cycling at 4 weeks, I could put in 100 pumps and I didn't feel like it was completely hard. I was concerned, but figured maybe the pump needed some time to "burn in". I continued to cycle twice a day for an hour each time. Sometimes it'd take 40 pumps before the bulb got hardish, yet I could still pump it. I started to think maybe I have superhuman grip strength and I was going to break something, although I could keep pumping. I spoke to the doctor about it, and he encouraged me just to stick with it, I cannot damage the system with pumps. I had varying success, usually somewhere between 40-80 pumps before I just figured that was how it was going to be.
At 5.5 weeks I was given permission to use my home hot tub (I had a slower shaft incision healing up). Maybe coincidence, maybe not....but I tried to pump for the first time in the hot tub and at 10 pumps the bulb was like a marble and I was as hard as I had ever been. I did the exercises, got a couple more pumps in and I could finally feel the stretch in the tips. We keep our hot tub at 104, it's hot in there. Again, I don't know if it was a coincidence or not, but possibly the very hot water allowed the pump to soften and seat the seal? I don't know how these pumps work internally, so I'm not sure what could have been affected.
Now, in the mornings in bed I give it 10-12 pumps and the bulb is hard and so am I. I can usually work in 3-8 more over the hour I'm inflated.
Couple of things I think helped.
-The MS pump needs a quick and sharp initial pump to set the valve to inflate mode. I make a point of doing it as fast and full as I can to start, I hear and feel the POP of the inflate mode and I know the valve is set. I may have not been doing that as sharply at the beginning of my cycling as I should have.
-I do believe the hot water helped in some fashion, I don't think it was pure coincidence that the pump responded the way it did on that day and would have done the same if I had just been lying in bed.
-I wait and extra beat before putting in the next pump. Once the bulb reshaped, I'd immediately press it for the next pump. Now, when it refills I wait just one second more before focusing on pressing the bulb from the bottom towards the valve body, in an attempt to get all the fluid in the bulb through the valve to they cylinders.
I think it's getting better every day. I posted before about not having any pain while cycling. Although I wouldn't consider it pain per se, I now feel the stretch and am very happy to deflate when my time is up. Something in there is getting stretched now when it wasn't before. I have to keep reminding myself I'm just 6 weeks post op.
I started recently cycling my implant, i have noticed after 20 pump squeezes, i can not inflate the implant further its like 60 % hard. If i put further squeezes the pump squeezes but no fluid is added in the cyclinders, after 20 pumps does not matter you add 100 more it stays the same.
Can you please let me know why is it so, how did yiou resolve this issue. ?

Sometimes mine would do the same thing. Reach a certain point and no matter how much you squeezed it wouldn't inflate anymore. Then one time it did that and I changed the position/angle of the pump and it worked. Don't know why but maybe a certain angle was/is pinching off one of the tubes. Not saying that will solve your problem, but might give it a try. Nothing to lose.

I'm one of those who take over 50 and you're right. It sucks! So strange that we have the exact same implant yet it takes so many more pimps for me. You're lucky my friend

40 pumps is max for me. I prefer to be at 30-35, but could probably still have sex with maybe 12 pumps.

Re: How many pumps ?
I had an issue and AMS700CX behaved strangely:
The problem was deflation, If i press deflation button for 4 seconds. The fluid goes back from cylinders to reservior. But if i stop pressing the defaltion button i could still feel vibration and fluid moving back to reservior. Further if i pressed cylinders withou pressing deflation button there was still vibration and fluid was moving back.
I checked with AMS guide, I could not find this issue. It felt like the deflation button was stuck (pressed).
I stopped touching the implant for the whole day and the next day i carefully resetted the mechanism by pressing the deflation block for 3-4seconds, and thn pressing deflation for 3-4 seconds after that. The pump inflated properly than and again same problem.
I then resetted again stretched the shaft as explained by AMS. Sent an email to my hospital.
I did not touch the pump the whole day resetted again. Now it is working fine, I just do not press the deflation valve for longer duratio or with full force just enough to get some fluid out oy cylinders.
Strangely, before this i had to pump the implant 50-60 times to get barely hard but not really hard. But I can now get 65% hard just by 5 pumps and adding some half pumps (2 or 3) make it really That is good but also strange, bulb is hard again after resetting. I also started puliing my pump down and moving my sahft sideways up and down and pulling forward.
I can see my girt increasing form 5inches to --> 5.25 inches
and length is less as compared to pre op_ its 6.25--> 5.7
Bone pressed is 6 inches and pre op it was 6.75
You had any similar experiences?

That's normal operation for the AMS pump.
The first squeeze of the bulb sets the valve to inflate, and the first press of the deflate button sets it back to deflate.
No need to hold it down to deflate, just a firm press of the button and if needed squeeze the cylinders.
The valve also prevents auto-inflation after deflating.

Hi,
Thanks. Deflation now happens only if i keep mydeflation button pressed. If i release it, no deflation. Plus i can now get full hard with just 5 6 pumps. and i do not hear a pop now.

For me, sometimes is 15…. Other times it’s 50+ and still not rock hard.
RJM, I have the same implant LGX 18cm with 3cm rear tips.
If I pump really slow with 1.5 seconds between squeezes and make sure the pump bulb is fully compressed, it takes around 30 and after it stretches for a few minutes, I can get in about 5 more half squeezes, so maybe around 33 pumps.
If I pump fast, it can take between 60 and 80 pumps.
Lately, I’ve been taking the time to pump slowly, because now that I’m almost two years out from surgery I can pump it up before going to bed for sex for at least 30 to 45 minutes and I’m ready for foreplay.
Good luck,
