Hi, I live in Arizona and currently 67 years old. I had a penile implant surgery about 6 years ago. It has been a terrible 6 years, I have probably used the implant less than 20 times and have used it at all in the last 3 years.
It is an AMS 700.
I guess I was in shock about the loss of length and girth, but the real problem was that it pointed down and was not rigid enough to penetrated a vagina. It was so frustrating that I have not had sex in the last 3 years. I may have masturbated 3-4 times as well in the last 3 years.
I wrote the doctor, but he was probably afraid of legal action and never replied.
I just went to a urologist and he saw the pitiful results and recommended a Coloplast implant which I am waiting for word from my healthcare provider.
For the record, I was about 8 inches long and very thick. Now, I am probably 5.5-6 and not as thick. It has been a nightmare. I had an MRI recently and it was noted that the right quadrant of the pump was problematic.
I am curious about your opinions on the Coloplast implant or any recommendations of a doctor in the Phoenix area.

Welcome to the forum, Moman8up. Sorry to hear of your sad experience. There is no excuse for a surgeon to ignore communication from a patient.
I have an AMS 700 (I guess). It is designated as AMS LGX. I think the "700" designation applies to both the LGX and CX models, but I don't really know. My LGX is plenty stiff for my 6" penis. A penis that sticks out 8 inches in front of your pelvis would probably benefit from the greater girth of the Coloplast Titan if your tissues have not shrunk. If they have, getting them to stretch will take a long time. For that, if you can use it, a VED (vacuum erection device) might help. It would probably take a few months. Check with your surgeon on the possibilities of pre-op VED use (not for sex, just cycling to stretch those tissues).
Revision (removal and replacement) surgery is generally easier on the patient than a virgin implant. But not so for the surgeon. So, quiz your surgeon on exactly what he/she needs to do and how much experience he/she has. If satisfied, go ahead with the surgery. If not completely satisfied with the answers you get and 100% confident, get a second opinion.
Good luck.

I am five years out with my Titan and we love it. There are photos posted on here of results and happy to discuss my experience. Phoenix should have urologists who can help you.

Dang that situation stinks. Sorry for all the years you've missed.
I am almost 4 years out with my Titan. Love it! I lost length but mainly from 13 years of ED before implant.
Hope you find a good doc who can fix that bad work.

Moman,
I had an AMS 700 CX installed by Dr. Shawn Blick in Scottsdale July of 2021.
Could not have been a smoother , more successful outcome (see byline below)
Contact him at Valley Urological. Good luck, well you don't need luck,
just a better surgeon. Blick is that!!

The usual pills, injections of increasing strength until the ache was too much and ineffective. 66 yrs old. Implanted 7/14/22 Dr Blick, Scottsdale. AMS CX 21cm+2cmRTE. Infrapubic. Back in the saddle 8/3/21. We could not be happier with the result!

Hello Everyone,
I originally had an AMS700 and my penis was not hard enough to have sex with. I contacted the original doctor and no response.
I got an appointment with another doctor and he scheduled a replacement with a Titan.
So they had to remove and replace the implant.
I felt ok after surgery, not much pain. Lots of bruising though. This doctor made 2 incisions I think, have not looked for the other incision.
I will post the bruising for you all to see. Moderator delete if not allowed.

Been almost 3 weeks since I had my implant replaced. Most of the pain is gone, just a bit remains. I am hoping this one works.
