Naw, you’re fine. I’ve talked other guys down off the ledge after surgery on numerous occasions.
At my 7-day follow up I asked the doctor if they got the license plate. He had no idea what I meant. It was then I told him I was sure they knocked me out, took me into the parking lot, and took turns running over my crotch with a Suburban or similar SUV. I was curious as to the vehicle’s license tag.
I bruised worse than anything I had envisioned. I didn’t really hurt but was sore. Black and purple and sore and swollen.
Unless you’re told not to my approach was try to resume normal life as soon as you can. Obviously no lifting. But the swelling and bruising and soreness and pain go away, especially when you’re concentrating on day to day life.

Day 8
If any day was going to break me, its today. I barely got out of bed. Pain is off the charts. I have an exam on Friday and if its like this Im making Dr Hakky give me a local in order to touch me lol
I dont know how some yall do this and not feel like its rough. Glad I ate a ton of pineapple and VED pumped 3 times a day for two months as supposedly that reduces recovery time, id be in real trouble if I didnt! Some pics of my battered groin! Haha

Holy cow man. This is why they say everyone’s recovery is different. My body didn’t look anything like this. Prayers for a speedy recovery. It’s ok to vent considering what you are going through. Never seen a more compassionate group of people that are willing to help/ offer advice. You will be good in no time.

Mercifully I had my phone with all my post-surgery pics on the tailgate of my truck and drove off. I remembered leaving my phone there and turned around to go look for it. I phones don’t survive being run over by a 4WD Tundra….which I did during my search. So I can’t post you any of my week/2 week photos.
I’m not sure it would have cheered you up. I felt a lot better than you’ve been describing, but if it’s any consolation I looked quite a bit worse.
Days 10-21 are when the bruises faded and the worst of the swelling went away.
I think you mentioned a follow up w/ doctor. Before you go: sit down and make a list of ALL of your questions and concerns. That’s why they get paid the big bucks.
Truthfully? I didn’t think you looked too bad. I just hate you’re dealing with pain. Some guys do. Others not so much. Sometimes there are no answers as to why.

i will testify that my scrotum looked a lot worse than yours two weeks after surgery and my penis looked more like a road-killed toad on a west Texas highway...utterly pitiful.
But my pain level was nowhere near as bad as what you report.
Yep, everyone is different. My greatest pain was trying to roll out of bed. It was like birthing an elephant. Lots of planning for each micro-movement to minimize the pain.
You have my sympathies and my prediction that you will soon have all this trauma in your rear-view mirror.

Re: Let’s Do This
Woke up this am and the pain has subsided significantly to a livable expectation. 4-5 level. Swelling is still there but at least the acute and intense pain has et off. Lets hope that trend continues. I was at wits end by 6pm last night. I was actually able to pick my feet up to walk this am instead of shuffling to let the dog out lets hope this trend continues!
I appreciate everyone’s help. Just a few points,
-2010 hospitalized, pancreatitis, 6 days, never took a pain killer
-2009 torn acl and meniscus, no pain killer other then ibuprofen
- 2007 vasectomy, local only, when worn off no pain killers
- multiple fillings and a crown, no local/novocaine or gas
- 2015 table saw injury, 3 surgeries, took the pain killers! Lol. But for two days in each instance.
- regularly get migraines, two cups of espresso and 2000mg of magnesium at onset only, no pills
I have a strong pain threshold, this one got me.

BB….that’s really good to hear that your pain is tolerable. Now we all hope your swelling begins to subside. As we all know they are related….swelling causes pain…Hang in there and continue taking care of yourself. I hope every day gets better!

Yow my pain was about a 3. Now when Dr Alex Tatem had to fix Dr Tadroses screw up that burned like fire. The wound not at all but they scrubbed me raw! Had pin pricks of blood everywhere. Didn't like Tadros at all but ALEX Is a great guy. Alot of drs wouldn't do that but Alex said no problem. Any future work i need done hell be the surgeon for sure. I also heard he helped design the new pump for Ams.
