Hey All!
So - I've only got a few posts to my name here, but long story short. I'm 47yo gay/bi male (married to a man) who was diagnosed with Prostate Cancer in March. I went through RP, and am 'cancer free' a few months out (still have a year of PSA readings to go but it looks excelent so far).
During the surgery it looked like they MIGHT have been involvement in one of my nerves, so the doc removed it. Turns out it was fine, but better safe than sorry. So post surgery I've begun the process of trying to get erections back. After three months and going the pill route - at BEST - with Pills, VED, and a lot of um --- visual stimulation the BEST I got was maybe a 30% erection. So after talking to the doc we're going the bimix route next. I have a consultation in two weeks to go over the injection proceedures / training and see how it goes. I'm hoping for the best and will let you all know how it goes. My questions are...anyone else in my boat? I know I'm not that old (youngsters might disagree) and never had much of an ED problem until my prostate went out of whack.

Hi EquusAz
I was 51 when I had my prostate removed. The pills had no effect, so I switch to injections. The trimix made me ache something awful and sex let alone JO was not going to happen. Bimix was a savior and worked well for years. It finally started to take stronger and larger doses, so I finally went Bionic and haven't looked back. Prior to my prostate surgery I did not have any ED issues either. Let us know how it goes!.

Some do regain erectile function a year or two after surgery. Those folks likely aren't on FrankTalk though. Many of the stories I've heard started with injections post surgery, then transitioned to daily Cialis, then to cialis/viagra as needed or back to normal function.

Does this mean you had penile implant surgery? Are you happy with the result? what was the surgery and recovery like?

Can bimix be stored out of fridge at room temperature?
How would you assess bimix strength vs caverject and vs trimix?

The standard bi-mix can exist at room temperature longer than normal tri-mix and especially reconstituted alprostadil mono-mix. I'd still keep it refrigerated when possible.
You can't really compare them like that. Tri-mix has the potential to be the strongest as it's mix containing your standard bi-mix plus alprostadil. The 3 drug mix is said to work synergistically in that the 3 drug combination is stronger than what just the combination of the effects of the 3 drugs would be. Or as Wikipedia says: Synergy is an interaction or cooperation giving rise to a whole that is greater than the simple sum of its parts.

Yeah we started with Tadalafil and Slidenafil. Bimix is next and we'll see how it goes. It just absolutely sux going from normal erections to absolutely nothing. Last full erection I had was morning of the surgery in July.

So....BiMix. Interesting and frustrating.
When at the Urologists, he did give me an injection after explaining how to do it. He was, not the best at performing any kind of injection. More of a stab plunge and pull - over in a second but SO painful. I did get maybe 30% of an erection at best with 10 units while waiting. After on the way home I did stay a bit plump, but never really got more than that. He suggested trying 15, then 20 and see how it goes and to let him know if 20 doesn't work. I went on my merry way.
Fast forward a few days and I have some time to myself and thought I'd try an injection. Yikes. Talk about nerves! I don't have the steadiest of hands when it comes to doing any kind of precision work (models, working on clocks etc), and my hands shook BADLY, and I almost wimped out, but after one false try, I did get an injection, but had zero effect - or maybe only 20%. I suspect I didn't get it far enough in.
I am absolutely NOT a fan of this and wish there was an easier way to get injected.

Re: New to ED, and new to injections - BiMix
equus: I minimize pain by picking a fairly non-painful spot on the skin, remembering that there's a fine network of pain nerves and it's possible to get a needle between them. (I use a 31 gauge needle, which is the thinnest made.) Then push in very slowly, but pull out and pick another spot if too much pain down lower. Eventually go through the tunica (no pain nerves in it), and into the corpus - needle in as far as it will go. I know when I'm there when there's no pain on pushing the plunger, and there's no more resistance to plunger travel than if the needle were in air. Then I take about ten seconds to inject and after pulling out I squeeze the shaft a few times to get some fluid into the other corpus through the fluid connections the two corpora have. This insures a symmetric erection.
If there's any pain or resistance to pushing the plunger, but you inject anyway, you will have your zero effect or a lumpy hematoma, which is harmless but will discolor and take some days to disappear.
It took me quite a few tries to inject correctly, but the pain and frustration was worth it.

There are auto-injectors. That's what I used when on Trimix. Load the needle, place it in the device, put the device on your penis and push, hit the button and boom. There are devices that do the injection for you and devices that only stick the needle in and you push the plunger to move the drug in.
