I'm seriously considering an implant. Had a radical prostatectomy at the beginning of the year, with moderate ED before hand. Went to see Dr. Milam in Nashville who mentioned that he normally uses the AMS LGX, and that he would install something else if I decided too go a different route.
Question with regard to medical issues after the implant. I should have asked when I saw Dr. Milam but didn't think of it till afterward. Has anyone any info on whether or not having the reservoir portion of the implant can cause problems if a biopsy is necessary at some point in the future? I may be overthinking this, but it would be helpful to hear what others think.
implant issues with future biopsy
Re: implant issues with future biopsy
I can't see why the reservoir would be an issue for a biopsy since it's not normally located in an area where a biopsy would be taken. Just tell any doctor working in the area about it and should not be a problem.
Re: implant issues with future biopsy
I asked my urologist and he said that it would not be a problem. My PSA has gone up and down and a fatalistic view would dictate that we all get PC if we live long enough. So many thoughts and questions to ask.
