Peyronies and bend injection needle

This is for the guys who experience an onset of curving or bending of their penis. PD is a frustrating condition which often creates significant emotional and mental distress. It overlaps several other sexual function conditions.

Peyronies and bend injection needle

Postby Reggieman » Thu Oct 19, 2023 2:12 pm

I developed peyronie's after pausing injections for a month or so due to unrelated surgery. I now have a curve shaped penis like a banana with the curve bending west to east vs north to south. I've always had trouble injecting on the left side where the curve now is. Since the development of peyronie's I been experiencing resistance when sticking the needle in my penis. I have bent needles and had one go in then bend into a "U" shape and come back out. It made a "U" turn. I can see the needles begin to bend when I pierce the skin which causes me to stop, pull out and try another spot. It seems to be getting worse. I use BD 30/1/2" needles. I thought that I might have gotten a bad batch of needles that were dull so I purchased a second box full. Same problem though.

My question is: Does plaque built up caused by peyronie's develop into a hard substance that prevents the hypo needle penetrate thru the tunica? I don't have this problem on the right side of my penis. I am right handed by the way. I have used Bimix since 2016 after my radical prostatectomy.

Any ideas?

A couple of observations and comments.

First I'm like you I have used Trimix injections for 1.5 years. I have no training or special knowledge.
Second I too developed PD, when I was sick for about six weeks earlier this year. No injections and probably no erections during this time.
Another member here on FT said he too developed a slight curve after taking a break. If you stop taking Trimix, I would highly recommend using a VED regularly.

Have you been to your urologist to verify that you have scar tissue giving you PD?
Pretty sure most urologists will give you an ultrasound to confirm you have PD.
If so have they offered any treatments?

As far as your needle bending you may inquire about using a slightly thicker 29-gauge needle which may not bend so easily.

One thing that I stopped doing was putting the cap back on the needle after drawing medicine (and before injecting it into my penis). My routine now is to take the caps off, draw the medicine, Then, Inject Trimix, and put it into the sharps container.

As far as needles bending, you want to check with your urologist. Maybe have the ultrasound to confirm scarring and avoid those areas for injecting into.

I can only speak of what I have experienced with xiaflex injections...when my urologists is injecting the plaques, there is some very strong resistance with the syringe going into it.
56, married 32 years to an amazing woman, BPH, PD (47deg down to ~29), current Xiaflex treatment with Pentoxifylline & Cialis. Penile modeling with Restore X. Occasional ED triggered from pain response during intercourse.

Thanks for the insights given. I never re-cap the needle after injection. I shoot then the needle goes directly into a sharp's container. My last visit to my Uro was when I showed him photos of my erect dick. He felt that it was indeed PD after examining me flaccid. I asked if the 45-deg. curve would prevent an implant later if I wanted one. He said it would not. I haven't seriously considered an implant due to my age, anorgasmia and a wife that doesn't want sex. I got to thinking though if I became single, I might get one just because I would like to look normal again when I induce an erection via Bimix or if I ever wanted to date again.
PD doesn't prevent me from enjoying electro-stim (although anorgasmia reduces the potential amount of pleasure) I wonder if an implant would make my dick less sensitive to stimming? I would not like to get an implant and then not be able to enjoy electro-stim however weak it might be now. By the way, Bimix doesn't need to be kept in the refrigerator but I do anyway. On trips I take the needles and Bimix (kept in a small ice chest with soft drinks) with me and a load the needles at night in the Motel. I have a Uro appt. next month and will go over all this with him at this time.
