appearance after implant

Postby Elwood » Mon Nov 25, 2013 4:19 pm

I had an AMS 700 Penile Prosthesis implanted about 6 weeks ago. I didn't experience much difficulty in mastering inflating and deflating the device, and am happy with the resultant erection. My question is: What should the appearance of the penis be when flaccid? The testimonials provided by the manufacturer stated that because the device is internal no one should be able to detect anything unusual, and will not know you have have an implant unless you tell them. When deflated there is a noticeable bulge on the side of the my penis about 2 " from the bottom of the shaft and my penis is bent to the left at almost a 45 degree angle. Hardly a natural appearance. I have and appointment with my surgeon to discuss this concern, but I was wondering if this effect has been experienced by anyone else at this point post-surgery so that I can have an informed opinion before I see my doctor. Thank You

I have an AMS CX and I point straight and at a fairly low angle when flacid.

You don't say if you have a CX or LGX. If you have an LGX, your 45 degree angle might be because one of your cylinders is not retracting into its unexpanded state during deflation. Your doc should be able to diagnose that.

You might help the problem by squeezing the penis while pressing the deflate button to be sure the fluid is out of both cylinders.

I have the LGX and at 3 months after surgery it hangs at about 5 o'clock when flaccid. Temperature comes into it for me and on cold days it all changes. Although like Dave says you do have to make sure you have fully deflated.

On the lump and bumps. I have seen other posts (can't find them now though) that mention kinks early in the recovery period.
