Revision

Postby fnrldir07 » Sat Nov 30, 2013 10:44 pm

I am just a couple days done with my revision of my titan implant. The cylinders are now into the head of the penis where they need to be. The pump still isn't at the bottom of my scrotum but I can deal with that. The revision is supposed to be easier and not so much pain. Haha the revision is so much worse than when the pump was originally installed. My penis and scrotum is twice as swollen as the first time, but hopefully I am able to have a usable implant this time. As the doctor who corrected the surgery stated my implant before this surgery was unusable. He gave me enough pain meds for 3 days so I have to go get some more as I am still in excruciating pain. It was so bad in the hospital this time they gave me morphine every 2 hours for a day. Here's to looking forward to being 28 and being able to use my penis again. It has been 5 months since the 1st surgery now 3 days since the revision. Hopefully the pain subsides a little.

Hope it works this time for you. Who did you end up using? And, did you get all new components or did they reuse the old ones, maybe with extenders on the cylinders?

Regarding the pump location. There is a lot of variation in this, and being at the bottom is not necessary, and for some of us, not even desirable. Mine is high and in the back, which is where the doc put it on purpose so "my girlfriends would never find it", as he said. It is indeed very discreet and not noticeable unless someone feels or grabs pretty aggressively. But, more than that, its NEVER in the way, I NEVER feel it in normal activities, I have no problem with it banging around. And, though I think it took a little more practice to learn how to access it easily, at this point I really like it where it is. In my imagination, I think I wouldn't like any other location, especially at the bottom, nearly as much.

I used Dr. Kaplinski in Park Ridge, IL for the revision. From what I understand he used all the same components and added to the length of the cylinders and sutured everything in place to keep it where it needed to be. I can feel that the cylinders are in the head of the penis now. He has his Physician Assistant try to tell me the 1st one slipped out of place and I said bull, the doc told me he wasn't able to get the cylinders up where they needed to be and she was like oh. So hopefully everything works this time. I am still in lots of pain.

Hi, the pain will pass by, that's the least problem. Be lucky you got it suitable this time!! That's the most essential thing. In some weeks all the pain will be forgotten and you're gonna head to new thrilling love affairs... 8-)
Why didn't they put the right size at first? I encounter the same problem, but only with one of the two cylinders.
Regarding the pump: In case of Titan pumps should be placed quite in the middle (right or left side of the septum); some put it at the bottom, some rather more floating. But being in the back part of the scrotum is quite crucial!

I don't know why the doc didn't do it right the 1st time there was a simple instrument that he could have used to get the cylinders where they needed to be. It is fixed now so hopefully in a month or so i can use it. It has been since June 27, 2013 since i have had sex last so its been a long time for a 28 year old to go without sex. My partner is ready. 3 other urologist said the 1st doc did it wrong and my lawyer says i have a case so we shall see.

Hi,

the simple instrument you're referring to is the so called "Furlow Inserter"?
