I've had a Vacurect for a year now. I've used it in and out of the shower and it has always worked good up until the past month or so.
It is leaking somewhere for whatever reason I cannot determine. I put the bare pump against my stomach and it sucks and holds fine, so the O-rings must be okay. I do lube them now and then with the supplied oil.
I've tried a couple of the different rings but it didn't seem to make any difference. I just recently shaved and it didn't help any; in fact it worked better a couple of months ago when the hair was fairly long.
It can only be leaking between the pump and ring, or between the ring and my dick. I slopped on some extra lube between the pump and ring and it seemed to help a little. But I did NOT have to do this until recently. I used to be able to pump up, take a shower or whatever and it would hold just fine. Now it leaks down in a half minute or so and will fall off if I don't pump up again.
Anybody got any ideas?

I'd like to try a pump and I've heard mostly good things about Vacurect. Would you recommend it despite your recent problem. I am wondering where to purchase it and if it can be used discreetly...in the shower before sex, perhaps?

I'm not positive, but I think I found the problem. I tried a smaller ring and it seems to be okay. I did this a few weeks ago and it didn't seem to help; maybe the one I've been using for a year is worn, although not visibly. The pump by itself, with no rings, works good. I think maybe the root of the problem is that you must keep the rings absolutely clean. Rinsing it with hot water after use doesn't seem to remove all of the (water-based) lube. After using it a few times I use hot water, soap, and an old toothbrush to make sure any caked-on lube is gone.
Yes, I would recommend it. I bought it directly from http://www.bonro.com/
Yes, you can use it in the shower, but as with any other pump, you must leave the ring on afterwards to maintain an erection.
