Cycling right away VS Waiting

Postby MovingForward » Wed Apr 03, 2024 3:21 pm

I have had some consultations with different surgeons regarding implantation.
Some surgeons get you cycling right away and some leave you inflated for weeks before starting.

Is there a strong benefit to either? I am leaning towards the option of deflating/cycling right away so I don't have to live with a 60% erection for weeks and weeks after surgery.

Thank you!

The risk is that your incision opens and you get an infection.

A few surgeons activate you early, like dr. Eid, who has his patients start cycling as early as 3 days post implant. Some others tell you to start after 2 weeks. They are top surgeons and they know very well what they are doing. But most of implant surgeons are between 4-6 weeks. choose a world-class surgeon and his directions.

I started cycling 35 days after because that's when my doctor first told me to. And I have no reason to believe waiting 5 weeks could cause a problem. Because cycling and recovery happens over a period of an entire year. 3 days vs. 35 days doesn't count as much.

Goal to prove implants increase dick size

Pre-op dick size: 8.75" x 5.7"

Current: 9-9.5" x 5.5"

Goal: 10+" x 6+"

How much does your LGX shrinks when deflated ?
LGX 18 + 1, 90 cc. 2023/12
Pre-OP VED length: 5.5". Post-OP: 4". At 3 months post-op: 5".
Cycling with a lot of pain for the first 5 months, now improving
If you have a motorcycle or a bike stop using it (ED with motorcycle accident).

If you go over to the General Discussion section of this forum there is a thread titled Documents Worth Reading. In that thread there is a publication that addresses "The coffin effect". It is about this and showed some size loss with waiting. The study was a very small number of men and the loss was also small. But this was enough that some surgeons have placed short wait times for activation.

Another study about preventing loss of size with surgery is intended to address the use of a VED after surgery: https://irp-cdn.multiscreensite.com/d88 ... action.pdf The thing that sticks out to me with this publication is that a famous Florida doctor has signed on this study even though every man in the study received a AMS LGX device. That doctor has been extremely critical of AMS devices in the past. The other thing that really stuck out was that there was a mean time of 8 days for activation for all men in that study. Again this seems to give weight to the "Coffin effect" publication.

As posted, this is something to address in surgeon selection. Do not use another doctors' instructions for another man. Follow your doctors' instructions for you. Doctors differ in technique and skill for this.

I personally think the wild card in the activation timelines is the stitches. Not all drs use the same method to close the incision so their advice can vary.

Default answer is to ask your dr when you can start gently cycling. He should know whats best because he knows what he used on you. Afterall, you did trust him to cut your dick open! If you don't ask, you won't really know.

Doctor was no one special. My regular urologist who retired shortly after my implant.

Shrink when deflated? Well if it's inflated I can get to 9", and fwiw I found out that if you measure when super-horny watching hot porn you get a bigger size. I don't know the science behind it but a horny implanted dick is bigger than one that isn't. Anyway, but if I fully deflated from there it seems to not have the exact measurement at different times throughout the day but it's somewhat consistently at 7".

2 inches of difference is a pretty solid performance from the implant, your surgeon sized you very well

Also it seems that you have a very very short crux with those size

So it really depends on how well you heal . I didn't even want to think about cycling 3 days after surgery! Excuse the pun but, THATS NUTS ! Dr. Clavell will tell you 6 weeks . I texted 4 weeks later , told him the incision looks good and I was wondering if it'd be ok to start cycling. He asked me to send him pics of the incision ( I did l ) and upon examination he gave me the green light to not only cycle but, he also added , it would be a good weekend to start having sex ( it was memorial day weekend ) - which I did and it was great . Don't be in too much of a hurry. You just had major surgery and it needs to heal . I couldn't think of anything worse than start cycling too early and opening up the incision and getting and infection.... you'd have to undergo another surgery to remove the implant, then wait for a couple months to get a revision. Then you're back to square one .
