Why is there such a negative view of implants outside of the Internet?

Postby Never_Enough » Fri Apr 19, 2024 8:55 am

My Pelvic floor physio who is one of the best physios in Europe for PF issues looked at me in horror when I suggested i looked at implants if my ED from Pelvic floor problems and hard flaccid didn't go away. His words were.

If you go that route you will regret it 100% I know who had it and it ruined their lives..

When I speak to my urologist they had a similar reaction.

Yet amongst those with ED the satisfaction rate seems very high, so what exactly is the deal here?

I guess they are coming from the perspective that if I can have an OK sex life then implant shouldn't be considered... But is an OK sex life forever enough? What if it ruins your relationship.. Then what is the point.

What is the point in a working penis if it causes heart attack levels of stress over staying hard and having to stress over pills and injections.

I can get good erections.. With pills but it's constantly stressful, and then it doesn't always work... Sometimes it goes soft after a few minutes... In a way it's far easier to decide when you have full. Blown ED.

Is the fear that you will go to a backdoor surgeon or something?

As long as you go to a top surgeon and pay privately isn't the risk of something going bad miniscule?

Keep in mind that the "risk of something going bad" is not a one time thing, it's cumulative as you have revision surgeries over time. Odds are probably high that eventually something will go wrong.

I would not get the implant unless I had nothing left to lose.

if the pills work forget about the implant, you will have no guarantee of success of the implant even from the number 1 in the world, once they take the money and put the implant in, everything is fine with them, your natural cock at 70% % working, any successful implant is worth 10 times, if I could I would go back, yet the implant works perfectly, but he put it wrong and it hurts, everything is fine for the doctor

I agree it’s a situation where it’s your last option but I would NOT say eventually something will go wrong. As perito and Eid say the chances of infection goes up about 1% with a revision. That’s still only 3-4% chances with a qualified surgeon! Also with the newer antibiotic coated implants the risk is far less than a few years back. Also as said on here many times, you get a bad sense of how often problems occur when you get on this forum… as this is where people go that are looking for info or that are having problems. A lot of folks get an implant and after it all settles in and gets going more normally they move on and stop visiting this site. I could get a descent erection with injections but was very unreliable and as often as the injection failed to work it would fail to stop working and I was left with an aching dick for 3-4 hours and finally After 6-8 Sudafed it would finally go down and I would be up all nite. I’m loving my bionic dick and my sex life with my wife of 38 years is the best it’s been in the last 10 years.

An implant is the last resort to solve ED . Exhaust every option... pills , shots , electroshock therapy ( I think electroshock is a scam , but I gave it a shot . Maybe it worked for others...idk ) . Insurance companies usually want this record of alternative remedies to treat ED before they'll consider paying for implant surgery.

Why would you go back if the implant works?

What regrets do you have over it?

Thanks

Pills. Intermittently work, haven't given shots a full try yet.

It's just a lot of stress and mental gymnastics all the time.

The idea of a never failing cock is far more ppealing.

In terms of your or is and erections are they as good as when you could get them naturally?

I doubt your Pelvic floor physio knows several guys who had an implant and ruined their lives. Implants are still so rare in the UK. Maybe he knows just one man with a bad outcome.

My urologist, who did a fine job on my RP, was negative on the Implant. Said it didn't feel natural (how about compared to no erection?). Spent the time to find the right surgeon and it was a life changing/saving experience. I would say it's not exactly like a natrual erection but pretty darn close, at least 90%. It's much better then the 2 years I spent with injections, wish I'd done it sooner. I knew the risk going in. It can be bad but the risk is small and an it's an individual choice. It worked out for me and I couldn't be happier.
