Yes Ive been here since 2020 and I've read a number of stories where a malleable wasn't even possible due to scar tissue from the IPP surgerywolfpacker wrote:younggun1 wrote:wolfpacker wrote:
I'm definitely happy with it yes. But I know I'm just one bad infection away from having a drastically smaller or non-functional penis permanently. It's important to understand this risk.
And yes the implant is superior to mediocre sex with a weak erection. But the weak erection is far superior to what your penis will be like if they have to remove and not reinstall an implant due to infection.
That's fair to weigh that risk but isn't that a small likelihood? 1-2% infection rate and then aren't most infections able to be salvaged? Doesn't seem like size loss is a guarantee.
Have you heard of cases where functionality is wiped out? I guess I always chalked it up as low odds and the upside being worth it but yeah definitely good to think everything through.
Yes, at least one guy in the past week. His username is RollTide, he had a Titan removed due to infection and is now told that a malleable cannot be installed due to scarring. He is left with no erectile capacity whatsoever now. There have been others over the years with similar stories.

Why is there such a negative view of implants outside of the Internet?

Born 6/15/74. I have substantial venous leak with fairly severe hour-glassing, but no hard plaques. My urologist is sexual health expert Dr. Laurence Levine who performed a Doppler Ultrasound and diagnosed me with VL in 2020. I also have mild BPH

Are there other factors here though?
Such at your age infection being less likely.. And less risky multiple surgeries?
We really need a mide ground ED treatment that's more reliable than pills and injections but less irreversible than implants.

Isn't this extremely rare? Also it looks like he neglected to go back to the doctor to fill the space after infection. I also wonder why the doctor wasn't able to put the malleable in sooner after the infection.
I could also get hit by a car when I cross the street. That doesn't mean I should stay in the house permanently.
I'm curious why implant doctors say they haven't had patients be end of the road - Eid, Clavell if this is such a possibility.
This seems like a big outlier but please tell me if I'm wrong. I would like to understand the data around infection aftermath more.

That is very unfortunate though that he's implantless now.
Clavell made it seem like we can always get you back.

I'm very curious what went wrong with eight IPP surgeries that failed where a malleable succeeded. Did the hardware keep failing? Did the hardware work but there was pain or something else that went wrong?
I'm so happy that the malleable worked for you.
Implanted June, 2022 by Dr. Karpman. 22cm Titan with 1.5cm RTE.

I think it was a hypothetical story, but it closely resembles another poster's story who had 3 failed IPP's and is happy with his decision to get a malleable

Dude you always say that.
55 yrs old. Prostiva procedure (enlarged prostate surgery) June 2019. Also hard flaccid issues. Working thru it (massage/yoga/exercise) and getting better and more mentally positive. Still experiencing ED, hate pills but i'm gonna figure out a way.

Yes, he does.
And even though it annoys the hell outta me I am a free speech absolutist and spent 23 years playing Army for a living so that he has the right to say it.
Why does it bother me? Because some of us have no clue what it’s like to have a sustained blood filled dick without chemical/pharmaceutical assistance accompanied by superhuman efforts to keep up the stimulation.
I was, I guess, 31 when I had the pressure studies and dye tests done. That would have been around 1987.
Hell, after 37 years I don’t even remember that urologist’s name. I do remember being pretty down about not being “a normal man.” He did tell me that it was just a guess but my problem didn’t appear to him to have been trauma or an accident, I was probably just born with veins that didn’t get squeezed off enough to maintain an erection. I had plenty of blood flow in. It just leaked out about as fast as I could pump it in unless I was flat on my back, perfectly still, with my left hand compressing the pubic mound. Then I could sustain a moderate erection for 4-5 minutes. Otherwise 30-45 seconds and bye bye boner.
So if I sometimes come across as an implant cheerleader it’s due to personal experience. You cannot miss that which you gave never had. It’s true that my LGX has left me slightly less girthy (about 3/8ths of an inch) but I don’t give a shit about that.
So, for a slightly different opinion: yes, there are things far better than a blood filled dick. A dick that works tops my list.
Age 68. Physically fit educated red neck in Texas. Very married. 23 cm (18+5) of LGX installed by Dr. Bryan Kansas 12/31/2019. I fought the ED and my wife & I won. I’m either full of shit or sound advice. You decide which.
