Are implants a long term solution?

I know this question is pointless for the people who had complete ED, because getting an implant is an obvious (buy not easy) choice for you.

Wondering for us people who are on the fence because of peyronies, where the dick works but not as good as we’d like.

Is a penile implant a long term solution? 40-50 years?
Or is it just to squeeze out a few more years, hopefully decades from a penis that’s dead anyway?

For you guys who had an implant for a long time, have the tissues in your penis changed over time? Every revision provides 1-2cm extra length, will that eventually lead to a dick that cant be implanted because of erosion/weak tunica or something else?

An implant is usually said to last 10-15 years. Some break down sooner unfortunately. There is a sub-section here just for Peyronie's if you look through there you'll find more info. I've been implanted for just over 4 years now. Not much has changed as far as my penis.

In my case revision lost 1.5 inches. Long term prospects that direction are no picnic either. I was implanted in my 50’s and was performing, but not as well as would have liked. Would I make the same choice? Yes, but probably a few years later and better informed about the size and type of implant.

Wow sorry to hear that. What do you mean with not performing as well as you’d liked?

Wait you lost 1.5 inches not from your first implant but from your revision? That doesnt make sense to me

You lost 1.5 inches going to a titan 26cm? That is a massive implant, amazing that you still lost length

It’s a long term solution, but most likely will need a revision or revisions in the future. The good news is it will correct your peyronies, or at least make it a lot better. Once implanted, any peyronies will not get worse.

Hrc714's case is quite unique, I don't think it should be referred to as a normal situation, especially since he recieved a bigger implant.

But in the end there is a risk of losing length on each operation regardless, so the later you do the implant the better

In my opinion I wish I would have got the implant sooner. I had pyronies and some ed that greatly impacted my sex life. Now my penis is back to what it was before all the problems and the wife loves it. The key is to get a well respected high volume surgeon and lots of cycling. I feel like implants should not be the last resort, I can't imagine going on like I was knowing what I do now. According to my doc they should last 10 to 20 years.

Yes, an implant is a long term solution.

Not too sound Hitleresque but they are also the final solution.

The most recent numbers coming from high volume implant docs: 96% of implants are working at 5 years. 60% are still chugging along at 10.

We have been all thinking a revision every ten years. With the newer implants, refinements in installation procedures, a good sized chunk of guys are gonna get 15-20 years out of their implant.

It’s mechanical. It might break. But then it might not. It doesn’t have an expiration date. I was 63 at install and I’m 68 now. I could be nearly 80 before were debating what to install next.

The implant has been everything I hoped for and more. Not everyone feels that way. But the vast majority of bionic guys declare their results satisfactory.

I guess I’ll call it satisfactory, because thrilled wasn’t one of the choices.
