Hello everyone:
I was just fitted for an implant, the AMS LGX; the operation was performed by a highly skilled, high-volume surgeon.
My question concerns immediate post-op size. I'm laid up right now recovering (operation was yesterday), and I seem to have lost a significant amount of length, about an inch and a half, which is obviously concerning. The doctor told me that this is not "final," and that there is a lot of cycling and stretching from here on in. Even so, does it sound realistic that I should regain all that lost size? Even half of that I would be happy with; certainly better than what I'm seeing now.
I would appreciate it if some of the vets wouldn't mind sharing their personal experience in this matter, and their opinions on what is a realistic expectation.
Thanks, and I hope everyone in the states had a nice 4th!

Immediate Post-Op Size vs. "Final" Size
40. Implanted July 5, 2024, by Dr. Andrew Kramer, Urology Associates of Cape Cod. AMS LGX, 21cm cylinders + 2cm RTEs. Idiopathic erectile dysfunction following bacterial infection. Tried pulse waves, Cialis, even spinal injections. Nada.
Re: Immediate Post-Op Size vs. "Final" Size
One of the other frequent posters whom I love like he was my brother is a dude named Gt1956. If he knew I was discussing size at this stage of your recovery I fear it would piss him off because it flies in the face of his implant philosophy.
However, pissing each other off is what real brothers do best so I’m going to venture out and try to answer your concerns from my personal experience.
Btw if you can share what size LGX and how much RTEs they installed in you I can do a pretty good initial estimate of where you’ll be in a year. I’m not perfect but it’s typically close. I’ve gotten messages by a lot of guys over last few years telling me I nailed it.
The day before my surgery I was 3.75” x 5.0” flaccid and 6.85” x 6.0” erect after a big dose of trimix.
I’ve got a 2019 model LGX, 18 cm with 5 cm of RTEs for a total implant size of 23 cm.
When enough swelling went away and bruising faded to cycle on my own, I had a flaccid that appeared to be 4.5”x 4.0” and an erection that clocked in at 4.75” x 5.0”.
I put on a brave face. Yes I was now able to keep an erection for more than a minute or two. But I was 2” shorter and an inch thinner. WTF? I had been warned by surgeon that I might lose 1/8, maybe 1/4”. But dammit the doctor never said 2”.
No, what he said was “you’re healing fine, it looks good, there’s plenty of implant in there, cycle, and give yourself time to heal.” There were traces of swelling here and there for a couple of months.
Fast forward a year. I’ll be damned if the Doc wasn’t spot on. I cycled. Frequently. It seemed like a slow process because it was. A lot of my growth seemed like it came between month 6 and month 12 although it probably was a bit earlier. At any rate, a year or so later I grabbed a ruler and tailor tape and ducked into bathroom.
My spectacular bionic cock had evolved itself to a length of 17.3 cm, or 6.81”. That’s a net loss of 4/100ths if an inch. A measurement error, not a loss. Girth is just a hair shy of 5 3/4”. Yeah, it’d be nice to have my 6 7/8” x 6.0” inch battering ram, but since it didn’t maintain an erection it really wasn’t terrific. This one does, and is, and if a guy can’t please a wife with 6.81” x 5.75” then he needs some remedial sex therapy.
I wonder if they offer those classes at the nearby junior college and if Mrs. TxAg would mind if I signed up for one? But I digress.
Nowadays my flaccid is a bit over 5 1/2” long and 4 1/2” in girth and flops around and hangs like a flaccid should. It’s softened up, it doesn’t look chubbed up or like a semi. It just looks like I have a fairly big dick. It’s noticeable but not grotesquely obscene in swimsuit or gym shorts. Yes, it is visible in jeans since I gave up underwear in the Army. But I don’t seem to be a dirty old man exhibitionist. I’m just one of those guys God blessed with an above average cock.
I’ll cut to the chase. From where I was shortly after surgery I got the 2” back on my erection that I had lost having the surgery. It took a year. Cycle and quit worrying.
Use it. Have lots of sex. If you quit over-thinking this you’ll be getting your size back while enjoying yourself. If my wife even noticed she never said anything. Maybe the lesson is that women really aren’t all that concerned with size. She seemed to get off with me using the 4.5” as readily as with the 6.8”.
Doctors, if they are doing this correctly and most do, want their patients to be happy afterwards. Based on the nature of the surgery, they don’t want to oversize you and cause erosion and you end up with a bigger problem than ED. So it’s a pretty fine art to fill the erectile chambers with an implant that perfectly replaces the corporal bodies they removed. Based on the difficulty of the task if a guy loses 1/8” or even a 1/4”, that isn’t the end of the world. A good doctor performing a good procedure will, in all likelihood get you that close. An implant won’t, except in a few cases (usually Peyronie’s or after prostate removal related) give you any sort of a size increase. But you should expect to get very close to what you started with.
It just might be a year before it happens. Now go back to cycling.

Re: Immediate Post-Op Size vs. "Final" Size
Thanks for this post. I’m pretty well in the same boat, at eight months.
I lost at least an inch and a half of length and 1/4 “ girth.
I’m cycling daily at least twice. I’m noting some growth, but not that much yet, so I will keep on pumping in hopes that I can get back to seven inches .

Please update your signature with model info and length pre and post otherwise is hard to tell
LGX 18 + 1, 90 cc. 2023/12
Pre-OP VED length: 5.5". Post-OP: 4". At 3 months post-op: 5".
Cycling with a lot of pain for the first 5 months, now improving
If you have a motorcycle or a bike stop using it (ED with motorcycle accident).

This is very reassuring. So, patience is key.
As far as the size is concerned, all I was told is that I was given an implant of 22.5 centimeters. If you could do the math on that I'd appreciate it.

Re: Immediate Post-Op Size vs. "Final" Size
Too easy.
22.5 cm is 8.86 inches of implant.
Most guys have between 2/3 and 3/4 of their penis distal from their pubic bone, ie visible.
So you will ultimately see between 5.85 and 6.65 inches of implant. Keep in mind most guys have about .4 inches of dick beyond the point in the glans where the implant ends.
So I would say you have about a 95% chance of ending up between 6.25” and 7.05”.
The most likely result will be right in the middle, at 6.65”.
The normal distribution is a wonderful thing. You also keep in mind that some guys have deeper and some have shallower crus. There are guys with 26 cm of implant who are shorter than 7 and guys with 20 cm of implant who are longer than 7. Anatomies do vary. But the vast majority of men will fall with the range calculated.

Sir, I'm not particularly religious, but you are a gift from God. This so puts my mind at ease; I was literally lying here planning my suicide! Really, I can't thank you enough.
One last question: when did you begin cycling, and how often? I'm pretty swollen.

Re: Immediate Post-Op Size vs. "Final" Size
My memory is actually pretty good. I was implanted Tues Dec 31. On Friday morning, the 3rd of January, I drove back to Austin (65 miles) for the doctor to remove the drain.
At that time the doctor told me to start cycling. So it was day 3. I was bruised, swollen, sore. I didn’t have anything I would call pain but I bruised REALLY bad and I was sore.
So my initial cycling for a few weeks was pretty conservative. The bulb was hard as a rock. It didn’t feel like I was moving fluid. But I was. I would know that because once I found deflate button (which was tough to do with the swelling) I’d mash it and feel the buzzzzzz as fluid went from cylinders to reservoir.
Just a little over 2 weeks after surgery the doctor said I could have sex. It was probably another 2 weeks after that before I’d really pump on the thing 25 times or more. So I sort of eased into cycling judiciously but faithfully.

Interesting. So, you didn't have a set regiment, say, like keeping it max inflated for two hours a day?

Re: Immediate Post-Op Size vs. "Final" Size
Tx, that was a super helpful response. Here’s a few of my questions, now that I have just started on cycling:
What is the different expected results from cycling a CX vs an LGX? Much is made of the LGX being expandable, what does that mean for us CX guys?
How much pain should I feel from cycling? Is there a consensus around “go to where it is uncomfortable “ vs “go as far as you can”? Is there an argument for not making yourself hate it, but doing it consistently?
Is there a consensus around how many times a day? I hear the recommendation is 1x but then Hiker said he was a 4x. Don’t know how much time he had for hiking that year!
Anyone’s advice greatly appreciated!

49. Implanted 5/21/2024 at Kaiser SSF. AMS 700 CX 21cm, 3cm RTE. Penoscrotal. Venous leak my whole life. Pills helped, but hated the side effects; worked less as I aged. Skipped injections. Grateful to bionic brotherhood that helped me make this decision.
