Recovery time from Surgery with Dr. Clavell

Postby Taggart423 » Wed Jul 17, 2024 3:58 pm

Just trying to get and idea of how long recovery time was for implant surgery with Dr. Clavell.

I understand each of us is different, but just trying to gauge how much FMLA I will need to get approved. Right now I am looking at
taking 6 weeks to be safe before I return to work at a Psych hospital in the Security Department.

I wont get to see Dr. Clavell until next month or September with his move into the new practice and looking to get all my ducks in a row for later this year.

Thanks.

Tracy

Recovery time to go back to work or recovery time to have penetrative sex again?

Depending on the exertion your job might require, you could go back to work much sooner than 6 weeks. I had surgery on Wed., flew home on Friday and was back at my home office desk working on Monday. Dealing with a semi erection was much more of a hassle than the actual work.

In terms of sexual activity recovery, I was told 6 weeks but was given the green light at 5 weeks. It all depends on how quickly and completely your incision heals, intercourse can be very hard on healing incisions, no sense risking trouble or infection by being too eager by a few days.

Your penis will continue to “recover” for as long as a year.

Good luck to you, I chose Dr. Clavell too and couldn’t be happier almost 18 months post op.
