Has anyone used a 5mcg dose of Caverject? Or is it too low a dose? I would like to have an erection lasting half an hour, and since it is expensive I cannot afford to buy large quantities.

You say you’re new to Caverject. Are you new to injecting in general or have they just switched you to Caverject?
Is there a medical reason they’ve not prescribed Trimix?
I’m not going to get into dosages other than to tell you anytime you’re poking your junk with a needle and introducing a medication that the only smart thing to do is follow doctors instructions to the letter.
My experience: I went on Bimix in 1987. In 1995 a different urologist wanted to move me to Caverject. I hated it. Caverject by itself gave me the worst case of achy dick imaginable. Somewhere sound 1997-98 I tried viagra for a while but found that it was only somewhat effective. My then-urologist then tried a big dose of viagra (and later both Cialis & levitra) coupled with a smaller dose of trimix and I was good for next 20 years, although the last 5 I had to up the trimix and watch the duration of erection decrease a bit.
Even at the end when I decided to go implant the combo worked, although viagra gave me indigestion & a headache. I know, it’s comical, my wife always had a headache before sex and I always had one afterwards.
If Caverject works well for you, more power to you. I don’t think I would have become celibate had it been my only choice but I would have thought about it. Bottom line before you start trying to titrate dosage etc etc TALK TO THE PRESCRIBING DOCTOR.

I've used 5mcg of alprostadil, which is what Caverject is. It would be for chicken choking or BJ but not for penetration. But every guy is different so no one but you can know what your minimum effective dose is. Have fun experimenting.
