Scuba diving

Postby aslanglobal » Mon Aug 05, 2024 10:15 am

Any scuba divers here with implants?

Everything I've read suggests that I can scuba dive with moderation with a water-based pump. I have a Titan, implanted 3 years ago. I have wanted to get into scuba for 10 years and life kept getting in the way. Now, its not in the way. Any tips, thoughts? Thanks boys.

I don’t see how it could be an issue. Been dive all my life however not since implanted. I have done some free diving and been down 35-40ft and no issues.

Right. From what I've been reading, because this is a water pump, depth pressure isn't really an issue. The one issue I was cautioned about is the wet suit being too tight around the area and potentially damaging the pump. I was recommended to have a literal custom wet suit with larger pouch. That should be a fun conversation at the scuba training center.... lol

I contacted Coloplast and received this reply.

Coloplast has tested the Titan penile implant with external pressures up to 75.3 psi (scuba diving to 165 feet) and found the performance of the device to be unaffected.

I hope that helps.

I wanna see the video of them testing the performance of the implant at 165 feet.

lol!!! So the question has definitely and up before!!! lol!!! Would like to see the video myself also. Statement is what I was thinking, since it’s water filled pressure should be equal as pressure to the body and doesn’t compress. The issue is where there’s air that reacts greatly under pressure.
